I'd love to see First Aid Kit there, be even better if they did 'America' with Art Garfunkel.

I'd love First Aid Kit too. Sadly didn't see them last time they played, as I'd never heard of them, only saw them on the BBC coverage when I got home. No tour dates announced at the moment, so not looking promising, but you never know.

They're not as good when they're doing anything that's not Van Occupanther.

Agreed.

Although, Tim's HARP project has produced pretty much NADA thus far.

I've met the chap. Strange but endearing gent indeed.

I'm all for artitsts taking their time over their craft, but HARP is starting to take the piss...!

Shame too. I know that he was a complete control freak that made it very difficult for the rest of Midlake, but he was probably the 'most important' member in terms of making VO and COO. I'd love to hear some new stuff from him, but I'm not expecting anything soon!

I saw the 'new' Midlake at St Georges Church in Brighton and I thought they were ace. There was one guy in the audience who heckled the band but he was mild-mannerdly set upon by the rest of the audience who tutted vigourusly and angrily waved fingers in his general direction. We certainly showed him!

I agree the style has changed but I like their current sound too, would be delighted to see them at the Farm alongside Band of Horses.

I really want Richmond Fontaine to play, but I know that they almost certainly won't.

They're by far my favourite Americana/Alt.Country band, and Willy Vlautin is a genius.

I'm seeing them a week on Tuesday, mind so that's good. What's bad is that this has been declared as the last RF album and so, perhaps, the last time we'll get to see them...

:(

Ben

I'm seeing them on this tour too. Superb band but agree a Glastonbury slot is highly unlikely. Felipe Brothers seems to be free but also probably unlikely....

Not on the bill, but I've just discovered Grant-Lee Phillips and his new album The Narrows. Would love to see him.

Natalie Prass would also make a great addition, perhaps Sunday afternoon in the Acoustic- in the slot that Gretchen Peters played last year?

Grant played in the Acoustic last year; was sublime. Natalie Prass had the most obvious Glasto tour dates ever last year (4 UK dates ending in Bristol on the Thursday with nothing over the weekend) but strangely didn't make it to the farm. So unfortunately I doubt we're getting either.

I too thought that Natalie was nailed on last year and although I knew of Grant from the Grant-lee Buffalo days hadn't really appreciated him. Oh well i'll just have to look out for their tours

I caught Natalie Prass back in autumn. It was very good, but the most amusing part of the evening when she asked the audience "Is something burning?" and a lassie at the back shouted back "My friend set her head on fire, but don't worry about it...."

Aah, Glezgah.

catching up on these pages here, nice stuff, although at times greatly stretching the 'americana' genure to bands that have at least one member w/ a US passport...

love Grant Lee Buffalo, and although I had my own 'fallow year' last year and didn't attend, didn't he get a horrible clash on the sunday vs. Patti Smith or something? shame for him....i'd have definitely caught him, but not over Patti

Natalie Prass was the support for one of the last War on Drugs gigs that I saw at NY's Radio City Music Hall before they took their deserved hiatus...i like her on record but just didn't really get into her live, came away disappointed, perhaps an off-night.

worried about this Kurt Vile 7pm Saturday thing going up against the 'get good position for Radiohead's special guest spot' need...

and look at the positive for Americana on the farm...we've got Wilco in 2018 right? They'll have their Solid Sound Festival next year which rules them out, Worthy Farm fallow year in '17, and tWilco's solid sound in 2017, right? only 2 years away....

(update - even better news...realize that fallow year is 2018, so Wilco's Solid Sound in 2019, means they're nailed on for 2020! only 4 years until Wilco on Worthy Farm, lads!)

If that's the case i'll forgive myself for missing him last year as Patti was brilliant last year.
