Wednesday night

DefLeppard

Recommended Posts

This will be my third consecutive Glastonbury and I can't wait! I also can't believe that we are already over 3/4 of the way from last year's Glasto to this one. Exciting!

My question is... Where do you usually go on Wednesday night? Last year I remember lots of nightlife stuff doesn't seem to properly kick off until Thursday (I.e. Shangri La) so where would you recommend that is good and runs late into the night for a dance on Wednesday?

Our last Wednesday night:

Glasto Latino for a beer & a nice sit down :)

Shangri-la for a while and drank one too many alco-slush puppies.

Stumbled about Green fields & join some folk singing around a fire.

Found a venue where people were providing peddle power for the band onstage.

staggered back to tent via a food venue we can't remember.

All in all a good night, I slept till 10:25 Thursday.

I really want to aim for something wednesday night this year, last year was our first and after a day of walking round trying to take it all in we ended up getting smashed outside some bar in the park (although the highlight was some lad off his tits talking to a tree)

Am really interested in whats going on in places as want to go somewhere

Last year we did, Brothers Bar, then wandered to Stone Circle, then across to the flags, then to Rum Shack and finished off in some bar near there, all got pretty hazy as we did some pills about 8pm before we wandered down to the SE Corner

Is the SE corner going on the wed?

Not in the same way as it normally is, Rum Shack was open, and a few other bars, but none of the main venues were going if memory serves me correctly, quite a good laugh though, just wandered about showing some first timers all of the stuff that would be going on later in the festival

not really to be honest. you can wander around the bars but not much in the way of entertainment.

the wednesday is the day to create your own fun and just enjoy relaxing into the place! its the one day i dont expect to be entertained

I didn't actually think anything was really open on the Wednesday. Walked past the Block 9 area early evening last year and asked when it opens (meaning which day) and he told us a time for that night. So we ended up watching the fireworks (don't think we'll bother again, it's just the same as any other firework display) then heading back to camp for maybe an hour and then NYC Downlow all night.

I'm not too bothered about being entertained just some noise in some bars is enough

How have I missed these bars:blink:

Don't worry about it, I missed the ribbon tower and it is pretty big apparently. None of us had been last year and we had no idea where we were going. We just stumbled across that bar.

We'll be wandering around the whole site having a drink every now and again and end up somewhere near The Park. I really like Wednesday at Glastonbury. One of my favourite days.

Think I was there with you. Lights in the trees. Dead good vibe in there.

I will be happy to end up there again this year Scruff.

I went for the first time in 2014 and spent wednesday evening wandering around alone because my friend fell asleep at like 6pm  - to be fair we hadn't slept in in 24hrs and were drinking warm wine all day.

It was my first time there and didnt have a clue where I was going but I managed to cover a lot of the site before making my way back to the tent with a pizza then crashing at about 10.

This year I'm gonna make sure no one sleeps until Thursday morning.

It is The Spike you're talking about. It's ace.  Saw Aphex Twin do a secret jungle DJ set there in 2014.

Think so mate. Proper smart place.
