Absolutely glorious afternoon. Near miss with some very dark clouds just passing by us which provided  the now compulsory glasto rainbow. happily sat at the pyramid with a very excited Mrs perfect waiting for Adele

Have a good night fellow glastonbury lovers.  X

Currently a band of rain has been hitting the east coast of Ireland for the last 4/5 hours. It's heading east and if it's hits the site I will feel very much for all those onsite :(

carparks and camper van fields will be some challenge this year leaving one suspects

Ankle injury stopped play for me yesterday afternoon and I was forced to leave the site. The walk/limp out to gate D and yellow car parks wasn't fun. Some parts of the walk were completely fine, but there were also some nightmarish parts. I'm not sure how it'll be after today's rain, hopefully not too bad.

Yellow car park was drivable but we were fortunate to be leaving when no one else was, so the car park stewards were on hand to give us a couple pushes. There are tractors about taking cars out of some of the problem areas which will be a long slow process tonight and tomorrow. My advice to anyone is allow a lot more time than you expect to get out.

Good luck to everyone and enjoy the rest of the day.

Rain has just stopped. No more expected - but probably not much more drying of the ground at this stage. At least it won't be raining tomorrow!

I hate to say it but the forecast from the Metoffice is showing potential for substantial rain this evening. Due to the conditions on site I think it may be worth considering how this may affect the car-parks for exiting because it looks like some people are already struggling.

I can't be bothered anymore tbh. I'm really struggling to get motivated today.

Getting this van out tomorrow is really started to play on my mind.

This was the first time I've ever felt discouraged at Glastonbury.. The van fields are getting so churned up, we felt we had to go this morning, and I couldn't face the sticky mud again. Daughter has an exam on Tuesday, so we can't afford to get stuck ! Was such a contrast to last year lovely wandering and sitting up by the ribbon tower in the sun...we trudged too much this year! Makes such a difference when you can't just sit and chill..

Still, all will be forgotten when it comes to next ticket day! Only positive memories will remain...

The radar shows that the big band of rain has passed. There is a smaller band to come but it won't last long and shouldn't be heavy. The forcast is out of touch with reality.

Yes, this seems to be true. Nearby Somerton has a completely different forecast with no further rain likely although some satellites show potential for light rain/drizzle throughout the evening.

I had to tap out and quit Glastonbury today. Probably my worst festival experience. Utterly drained of energy and found the mud soul sapping. Couldn't face an evening of predicted rain. Meant to be going to Rock Wertcher on thurs but have just read the ground is saturated there too.

But despite all that, had a great day and night in Rabbit Hole and Crow's Nest. Park was leg destroying levels of mud though.

So frustrating! We had a wash out Secret Garden Party last year , that was the last one we went to. Cancelled Boomtown last year as it was a predicted mud bath..where are my lovely sunny spangly festival vibes?!

Come to Bearded Theory. We had fantastic sunny, warm weather at Spring Bank. Easy parking, friendly folk and great lineup.

Absolutely..and in fact BT had the best line up of any festival for me this year! Sadly exams stood in the way...I've only ever heard the best things!

Come and join us next year for Bearded's 10th birthday celebrations. PS it does rain at Bearded too, sometimes. But this year was just lush- the best.

First time I've not been in the last 4 years so trying to get a feel for what the weather has been like this year.  In 2013, 14 & 15 we've always had a bad day which has recovered quite well when the sun came out.  Has there been any sun this year and how bad has the weather been?

From 13-15 despite the rain and mud I think we were mostly lucky because it stayed dry during the evenings/nights (if I remember correctly). We also didn't have to contend with the traffic-mud problems as the ground was relatively ok to begin with, and we got to put our tents up in the dry on the Wednesdays. 2016 doesn't seem to be as lucky but then it's hard to tell as I'm not there.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
