isnt the second stage supposed to be bigger this year? im sure i read that somewhere.

anyway, way i see it, there are only two plausible options for RH to play

1. headlining sat (if its not adele)

2. opening second stage fri.

i cant see them playing second fiddle on the pyramid to muse, adele or coldplay. i  cant see them headling the second stage. i cant see them playing any other stage for h and s reasons. it would be stupidly crowded on the fri morning other stage, but not dangerously so.

It got bigger last year.

JP is moving location but I don't think the Other stage is changing this year.

I don't have anything to back this up necessarily, but I could just see them subbing someone if they play.

How do you have Emmy's new album already? iTunes says it's not released 'til Friday.

I pre-ordered through Bella Union and got it about 2 weeks ago. I hereby promise you that it's fucking exquisite.

Well I have just paid for a flight and ticket for Lolapollooza (sp?) in Berlin this Septemeber. New Order are on the Saturday so I will make a point of watching Radiohead headline the Sunday :-)

Thats it then. All over. Lock the thread.

It's not over till the fat lady sings (no, that's not an adele reference :P).

Here's what i posted earlier in one of the other threads....

As I've said plenty of times, I have no reason to think the RH info I've been told is wrong ... that source has an impecible record with ad-hoc bits of info about a number of bands (including RH previously) over many years, while not having sent me info every year.

I have no reason to think this year's bit of info will be any different.

The source never said they were playing as headliner. Someone has posted today wondering who will be subbing Adele. It's still quite possible that might be RH - because there doesn't seem to be anyone else in the frame.

So it looks like Adele is headlining

There's one particular British woman that's doing quite well at the moment too, of course
Of course… We love Adele. She's an incredible artist and brilliantly honest and funny and real and that's what everybody loves about her. She's a great example because she doesn't put up any pretence. There's a certain pressure on women to perform in a certain way or be giving off this kind of image, while Adele is just honest and true and funny and just about as popular as you can get.

She'd be a good headliner...
She would, wouldn't she? It would be great to get her…

Yep. The biggest artist on the planet, having just released one of the biggest albums of the decade, who has never headlined the festival before (any festival?), who is in the middle of a huge sold out world tour is going to sub to a band who are playing other smaller festivals all summer and have released nothing for 5 years.

Edit - Sorry, can we keep this thread open? Comedy gold!

Radiohead on the Pyramid then New Order on the Other. Omg. Book it now please. My brain would explode.

I don't want to get excited like I did last time I saw RH for Glasto on the forum. Are the chances of this happening pretty high? Does anyone know?

Chances of Radiohead are fairly high given Neil's info, but in what capacity RH appear in remains a mystery.

Probably slim.

You can find what I think in one of my earlier posts from today. I think it's probable they're playing from what someone has told me, but you could guess as good as me for where and when.

I'm still so confused by Bring Me the Horizon as a headliner. I usually have a vague idea of who each headliner is, even if not interested, but I'd genuinely never heard of them before hearing about them in relation to Glasto.

Soooooo, clutching straws again, could Radiohead not actually be the Sunday Other stage headliner? What a glorious alternative to Coldplay and friends that would be!

the key word is `looks like`  and im sure none of those acts would object to subbing radiohead btw who would argubly attract a bigger crowd then any of them.

Im just surprised noone has mentioned it as a possibility before, like I said the field and stage is bigger then it used to be and their a band who have already been there done that on the pyramid and although great they are are clearly not as relevant as they once were just due to the length of time theyve had off........also considering they `are` just coming back after a period away they may not want to walk right into a pyramid headline slot, thom comes across as quite a modest guy, I can totally see him thinking along those lines for his band.

It has been mentioned briefly.  And then dismissed because there are no slots free.

Panic At The Disco headlined the Other one year.

I didn't then and I still don't now.

they are a band whod struggle even headlining at download because even many metal fans arent necessarily  fans of the screamo/scene core thing they have going on. (myself included)

You're fucking kidding me?

Kept that quiet.

    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
