i hate that this is the case - literally gonna be checking my phone hourly to see if there's been any update on their secret set (and inevitably find out there never was one come Monday)

There is a ticket available for Gallery standing at RAH for a reasonable price. Is the gallery any good? I do not want to get stuck in the gods with a poor view really.

Gallery standing is pretty crap mate, I was up there with my girlfriend for Noel Gallagher (she's a fan, not me!) and you are up in the gods, above all of the seats. If it was cheap, then it's ok as long as you get there first so you are at least stood at the front of that balcony area and central and not behind other people up there.

Failed miserably on Wednesday but managed to get through for two standing tickets for the Saturday. Was fully expecting to go for Amsterdam tickets instead!

Considering I fainted on the train on my way to work this morning, I wasn't hoping for much. Everyone else I know who went for tickets didn't get them. It's brutal. 

I've never seen Radiohead before. 

I think I'm still processing this all!

It is not too bad for me mate as I am 6 foot 2. There seems to be a small number of seats (30ish) in the stalls but I would rather stand.

I will keep an eye on the link cdm22 has posted to see how the stalls are going. If those 30 or so tickets get under 10 then I will buy one. Hopefully a general standing one will come up at a reasonable price.

The problem with that is mate from my experience the touts that I have dealt with have been unscrupulous Manis and Scousers. The last thing you want to do is clobber one of them as in all probability you could cop for a good kicking. Funnily enough I have always got a decent deal of the touts outside the venue. Whether these virtual touts are computer geeks after pulling a fast one on people I have no idea.

This is a fantastically put point, so much so that I can't even add to it. The only thing I will say is as a young person working in london for just above minimum wage who saves and lives of rice and pasta for a month if I want to go to a big gig, the inclination to do so decreases massively when I know 9 times out of 10 I won't be able to get a ticket. On something like this, a ballot system is the only way - assign everyone on the mailing list a random number, email them if they got tickets and to what date, then give a final payment date and if the ticket isn't payed for it can go back in the pot and sent to another person that is signed up. Simple. 

Anyway, on the RAH front, I have seen a few different things and the only thing I've seen in the gallery standing was Classic Quadrophenia the week after Glastonbury last year. Honestly, it was one of the best places I've been in there. The sound is absolutely fantastic, you have basically the whole of the top floor to stand and watch from wherever you want and if you want to move, you can at anytime! It's also pretty breathtaking to be looking down on it all too. I'd say that combined with New Order's current form - it's a no brainer in terms of what you said in your first point. Do it!

Quick update on the situation (as I'm sure you all care)...

I've now found out that I don't get quarantined all day after my exam so if I get given an early slot I should be able to make it. The exams I have after the gig are 5 and 15 days after it, and I finish lectures like 5 weeks before the gig so really it's only one night of revision I'd lose out of 5-7 weeks (I'd use the several hours travelling time for revision anyway), something I'd consciously make up for (though I do take easty's point on board and am still considering it).

Having spoken to a couple of people who've had similar experiences I am now slightly more confident of my chances of a refund, however still not much so. But in reality, it's the missing out on such an occasion that sticks in the throat rather than the money. It is a lot of money for me to lose, but money means a lot less to me than seeing a band I love.

But anyway, I'm now more confident both of being able to make the gig and of being welcome to a refund if not than I was earlier, so feeling a little less down about it.

Those tickets went on sale an hour before the UK tickets and sold out in ten minutes. Glad I was lucky last wednesday!

On the secret set thing, I know they're in a different league to all the acts who've played the Other opener slot, but if Radiohead do want to do a secret set the obvious thing to do is to slot them into an already existing secret slot; one which is in a big enough are to not be catastrophic. Taking this into account, I think Other openers or a repeat of the secret sub slot from last year (if they liked how it worked) are more likely than some tiny set at the Park or whatever.

Shouldn't be too gutted as going to NOS and given the ticket price + accomodation + flights it would have been a costly one, but I am gutted.

Need to get a glastonbury ticket now. Not necessarily because Radiohead are going (although they definately are), but just becasue I can't miss it again.

Amsterdam tickets went on sale at 9am gmt today, same as the London ones.

Arguably, playing somewhere in the SE corner where the crowd can be controlled most effectively would be safer than the Other Stage.  I'd always been of the opinion that Other is plenty big enough for any secret set, but even though Blondie was announced and a bit later, it was utterly rammed for them.  Last time I heard, Blondie didn't have tickets for their last tour selling out in minutes.

If Radiohead played that slot and it leaked (which is always has so far), then it could be dangerously full at Other.  As odd as it sounds, 4am on Hell (or similar) might actually be less problematic.

I still think the most likely option is Radiohead subheadlining. Whether it's as a straight sub, co-headliner, special guest or a TBA deal.

4am Hell Stage would be the thing of dreams if people on this forum were made aware of it but it just seems insane.
