How can people complain if Bruce Springsteen get announced for the festival that they are attending? He is a top act and once than Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and GnR are ruled out, the other options are Ellie Goulding or Macklemore...

Pearl jam are ruled out and Radiohead would probably be announced by now. GNR if they are here at all then will probably being playing a big outdoor gig instead.

Not exactly mate !

Pearl Jam have maybe cancelled the European leg but they can replan it, time will tell.

According to the Pinkpop boss, Radiohead have announced all their dates in major festivals. (But I don't totally believe in Jan Smeets's words)

According to the Hellfest, Guns'n'Roses don't come to Europe in 2016.

Pearl Jam'd Manager is good enough for me.

I know bands drop feed their announcements but given Radiohead didn't announce Werchter just after Primavera and NOS, I'd have expected them the Friday just gone.

Maybe they don't, Neil has heard different but I don't think he could be certain and luckysalt knows GNR plans but clearly airing them on hear wouldn't be advisable. But when I once thought BST would be possible, my mind was changed on that and R&L was maybe more hope than anything. You read read if you wanted to that Hellfest are saying that because they don't come to Europe in time for them, maybe not the full story, who knows.

PJ's manager didn't say anything about the Euro tour !

My friend asked him on twitter if PJ was going to Rock Werchter, and he answered "Not this year"...while we were in 2015 !

I had also expected Radiohead for Friday but the situation is a little bit strange.

I think that the speeches of the Pinkpop boss, the Hellfest CM and the Download programmer are not words in the wind, but there is something crucial : the date.

(sorry for the strange présentation)

The information of "No Foo Fighters coming to Europe in 2016" and "No PJ coming next summer" are old.

The information about GnR dates back to last week, and highly credible.

The Sun keeps asserting FF play at Glastonbury (and they can play only two shows in Europe, like Arcade Fire)

The "Radiohead has already announced his major festivals" dates back to last week.

Bruce Springsteen could announce his tour this Tuesday.

That's all we know so far, time will tell, but none of these bands are ruled out at 100%

The PJ comment was late enough that it clearly didn't mean just gone as that would be a silly comment, a lot on here star referring to 'this year' soon after a fest had gone even if it's the following.

There isn't a FF won't be coming to Europe I don't think, it was FF not available in whichever way for Pinkpop. Why can they only play two shows?

Yes it would be wrong to dismiss Hellfests info, GNR tour also comes down to how many dates they choose to play together or separate dates.

Springsteen heading doesn't really fit with Disclosure said to possibly be a closing act that night.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Radiohead had, they don't tour big when they do tour, R&L and Bestival won't have them and nor will Glasto. I can't guarantee that last one, but it's not going to happen, Thom isn't bothered.

Why would Pearl Jam cancel the European tour just to plan another one for the same time? Surely the reason it was cancelled is because they don't wanna come over?

John Giddings has definitely said they're not touring.

Whether he's right or is telling the truth is a different matter, but he definitely said it.

As long as Tomorrowland exists, you won't have to worry about David Guetta closing our Main Stage ;) or any EDM act, for that matter.

As ambivalent as I am about the boss, I'd rather it be him than some of the names being banded about. He's far more suited to a festival than radiohead. If you only like the big hitters you're shit out of luck with them. They only played paranoid android and just at Leeds fest in a 2 hour plus set. I'm not a fan of their ambient electro stuff at a festival, although it works well indoors

I agree. Even though that I do not know much about the boss than maybe 5 songs, I can still imagine him being more suitable for a festival than some of the other before mentioned bands.

I also love Radiohead live but on the other hand I don't particularly crave their hits ( a win win situation). Will be happy for the Springsteen fans out there if he gets announced, but if so, I will not be able to resist the temptation of Arcade Fire and Radiohead at NOS festival. Would be awesome if both Springsteen and Radiohead get announced for Werchter but it probably wont happen. Btw, yesterday there was a rumour that Radiohead will in fact headline Glastonbury.

If RW got both it would be amazing but as far as I'm concerned it only needs one to make it the most desirable lineup in Europe for me. Regardless of peoples personal preference on Springsteen, there's no denying it would be a huge booking and ticket seller, and I think Springsteen/Radiohead, Rammstein, RHCP and Florence would be a great mix of styles for a festival like RW.

I'm still dreaming for Florence to be moved to Thursday to sub Radiohead and make way for Springsteen on Sunday, but that's maybe wishful thinking.

I bet we'll get even better sir :P I bet on Florence subheadlining Springsteen on Sunday; so that we got another big sub on saturday (The National) + another headliner (put a name here).

Well my friend, I'll buy you a beer on each day of the festival if all this happens (boss+Flo on Sunday, the National on Saturday and another headliner on Thursday).

I bet many will!

Its a deal? :)

Oh I wanted to say The National on Thursday* (I wrote too fast); I'm OK for the deal if we say The National for Thursday and not Saturday ;)

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
