I don't know Gary Clark Jr but I read everywhere that he's very talented.

Can you suggest me something to begin?

Thanks in advance :)

Listen to a live version of Bright Lights ;)

Thanks a lot!!!

Another info please, I know it's early...when they usually publish the schedule? I mean, a week or a month before? I'm afraid of listening too much some bands that I'll not see because of clashes :):):)

Usually month(s) before..about 6 weeks before the party starts

Really happy about atdi, band of horses and Gary Clark Jr. I think my main issue so far is nearly every act I want to see is playing Friday so the other 3 days are looking pretty barren. There's not a single act I want to see on the Sunday so far which isn't great for the last day of the fest.

I know that this question has been asked before. But given this strange situation with almost nothing on Thursday and a little bit boring Sunday, when do you think RW will sell out on combi tickets this year?? February, March, April?

I think I want to buy my tickets now, but some of my friends can first afford a ticket next month (start of March)

Do you think that would be too late?

RW staff always give an update when tickets are close to sell out. So watch their FB page to be up to date. But with this line-up (so far) I don't expect them to sell out nowhere near May...

Agreed, the other days, especially Sunday, look very poor for the moment compared to the already fantastic Friday. But we've got only 28 names ;)

Well, heres my review so far:

Thursday: Nothing interesting so far except New Order

Friday: A fantastic day: Robert Plant, Rammstein, Richard Hawley etc. They don't really need to announce more bands on this particular day imo.

Saturday: Lots of interesting bands here as well. Looking forward to PJ Harvey and RHCP.

Sunday: Unfortunately there is nothing I want to see on this day.

Conclusion: More names and bigger names on Thursday and Sunday (I'm sure there will be)

Absolutely buzzing that Tame Impala were announced as they were one of the bands I was wishing for, just hoping they're not clashing with RHCP or Editors, that'd be pretty devastating but I think they'll be on main before both of those. I've got one of ATDI albums but never properly gave it a listen but think they'll be worth watching.

What are the other bands announced like? Genre or what they sound similar too would be good so I can delve into what'd suit me.

I know Wikipedia is not accurate but I'd see this being about right with the stage splits...

RHCP have been dreadful last couple of times i saw them outdoors. Really flat and dull but hopefully maybe reenergised before RW. I'm wishing id held off getting tickets tbh as overall line up for me is really uninspiring

This is what I'm hoping, my partner has never seen them and really looking forward to them so for her sake I'm hoping it's a hit filled set with alot of energy and by energy I don't mind 30 minutes of jamming! Fingers crossed.

Who are you hoping for? There isn't loads for me to get excited about yet but I'm still hopeful with over 50 acts still to announce.

Think it's more frustration with pearl jam being certain , then not, radiohead being certain then not and the god awful thought of springsteen getting almost 4 hrs. Suppose what id like is either pj or Radiohead for Thursday and additions like the national, biffy, brian wilson doing pet sounds, band of skulls, temperance movement, rival sons etc. So far i think line up is lacking any zing. I really don't like edm or the current batch of soli hipsters with acoustic guitars.

Yeah, it does seem a bit back and fourth with those. I think it's anyone's best guesses and I wouldn't say Radiohead are any more or less likely than Bruce but I'm guessing they've got someone as they've not announced anyone for the Thursday really and expect tickets to go so it must be someone of Radiohead's stature. Think there's still plenty of room for big bands to be announced. Especially The National and Biffy. Hoping for Biffy myself and Band of skulls but not sure if the latter are known in Belgium. Still a long old way to go yet!

My guess of what is happening: we're getting Springsteen to close on Sunday and F+TM will be moved to headline Thursday, surrounded by strong acts (i.e. The National, Ellie Goulding, Beck).

- It would explain why we have to wait so long: Springsteen will release his whole European tour list in one go

- It would explain why F+TM was recently listed for Thursday as well as Sunday on her website. Yes, RW said it was a mistake, but what else could they say without raising suspicion?

- It would also explain why we're lacking Thursday AND Sunday names so far (compared to Fri and Sat): the switch in headliners would also cause some slots to be altered, and possibly some bands to be shifted to another day/stage.

Florence headlining on Thursday wouldn't exactly be a massive ticket seller, even if surrounded by popular names. But I figure that if RW missed out on both PJ, Radiohead and Arcade Fire, they'd be focusing on 'having 4 headliners' rather than 'selling out 100%'. And it's difficult to get a day to be weaker than last year's Friday.

I really can't see Florance changing days after day tickets have been on sale for the Sunday. Surely that would fuck up peoples plans who got a ticket just for her (yep all 6 of them).

I honestly can't see why springsteen can't just play after her on the Sunday. There are a lot of bands available that can still take the Thursday headline slot.

There's a lot of bands with an album due this year that haven't announced their plans yet. Which would fit with why we don't have a Thursday headliner yet.

Well. I think Wechter are capable of switching Florence's day since they moved the entire festival last year in order to get Foo Fighters. However, this would leave Werchter with a fairly weak headliner on Thursday. That day usually requires a big name and in addition, Florence might not raise people's pulses due to her playing as recent as last year. What other big names are releasing a record soon but have not yet announced any tour plans?

Think point made before is valid.  Remarkably some people actually like Flo and have possibly bought tickets based on her playing Sunday.  Appreciate they cover themselves with T&C's with line up subject to change thing but would be pretty unfair on anyone purchasing based on that.  She was 3rd on bill last year and I don't think she's done anything since to merit a jump to headline so playing before BS is an option.

Looked at NOS line up and it's certainly shaping up well.  Regretting booking up everything for RW now.  Hopefully Radiohead will still be there but I'm beginning to lose faith.

They did move the festival a week forward but everyone knew dates before buying tickets

Well, that is remarkable indeed and I agree, BS playing after Florence would't be that much of a stretch. I've also started to look at other festivals especially NOS. I really like Werchter though so I wait a bit more to see if the line up improves. If not: hello Portugal.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
