Wrong section I know but I doubt many people use the TITP section. Has anyone been watching the last two days? Dear me, it's been mostly awful. The lineup gets worse every year and the crowd all look 15 years old. Avicci headlining now and they're lapping. Just terrible. I have only enjoyed Hot Chip, Kasabian and the small part of The Libertines they have shown. It was Kasabians 3rd time in 6 years as well, the setlist must have been 80% the same each time.

Deadmau5? Chemical Brothers? Countless other dance acts?

Come on, you can't compare Avicci to Chemical Brothers. It's not dance music that's the problem, there's a dance area at Glastonbury. Avicci is the pits.

The line-up has more than its fair share of toss, but it's also got The Twilight Sad, Modest Mouse, Hot Chip, The Cribs, Charli XCX, St Vincent, Marina & The Diamonds, And So I Watch You From Afar, Jamie T and Admiral Fallow. In all fairness, that's a decent crop of top banana indie acts for a weekend, but the rest of the line-up is so shocking that I can't imagine it being a pleasant atmosphere.

I went in 2011 and 2012. Had a great time, but the lineups were better and from what I've seen on TV the crowd wasn't anywhere near as young. I did speak to people who had day tickets for The Stone Roses in 2012 who said they used to go every year, but don't go anymore because the crowd is full of w*nkers these days.

the fact that some of those acts play TITP quite often but are not booked for Glastonbury/other better festivals really bums me out. their crowds (for the most part) over there must be appalling. it really saddened me to hear that acts like My Bloody Valentine and Kraftwerk got minuscule crowds, knowing that they were some of the most pined for acts to appear at Glastonbury for some on these forums

to be fair, the lineups used to be far better. the 2011 lineup especially was just insanely strong. seems to have gone massively downhill since, seemingly aiming for a different audience

There's not really a Kraftwerk/MBV type of booking this year but bands like The War on Drugs (although they were bizarrely put between Afrojack and David Guetta) and Hot Chip got really small crowds. The War on Drugs crowd particularly looked barely more than 10 rows deep and that was on the 2nd biggest stage!

Yeah since that 2011 lineup it's definitely changed direction a bit and basically just caters for your pop/EDM crowd and Kasabian/Courteeners/Noel Gallagher etc fans. Not sure if this was the case 4 or 5 years ago but the main demographic now seems to be people in their last year at school.

Admiral Fallow look ludicrously out of place on that line-up poster, and to a lesser degree The Twilight Sad as well, I can only imagine they got booked purely for being Scottish and having played a lot in the past. You wouldn't really look at that line-up and think anybody who buys a ticket is an Admiral Fallow fan, I bet anybody who wanders in by mistake will have a great time though, they're irresistible to all.

Marina & The Diamonds seems to have got a respectable mob who know the words and everything, but they look like a shower of wet blankets, probably all the English attendees.

Yeah I guess they both just get booked because they're cheap and Scottish but I doubt either will get any more than a 1/5 full tent at best given how early they're on, that hardly anyone will be arsed about them and that The Twilight Sad were probably on at the same time as The Cribs.

It looks awful. All the crowds can do is repeat "Here we, here we, here we fucking go". Tragic.

I'm used to it being sung at most gigs in Glasgow so it doesn't bother me as much now but it's an awful chant. Still, it could be worse, there's always the Toure chant.

The crowd must have been turning for a while though. I remember being bery frustrated with the lack of atmosphere for Pulp in 2011 and they were brilliant. Fatboy Slim has put Avicci to shame on the red button mind.

I can't believe what I've been watching. No matter who is on, there's fuck all people there watching. Where is everbody?

.

Two words

Slam. tent.

It's great, but it's mainly the only reason a lot of people go to T. Think of T as an EDM festival nowadays, with bands scattered around.

I remember people last year being shocked when I told them I didn't care for Calvin Harris.

Oh god do not watch the footage to the war on drugs

Fantastic band playing a great set to absolutely no one it's incredibly depressing!

I felt a bit sorry for them. There's about 10 rows there at most, half of that is people looking quite into it and the other half is just people waiting for David Guetta looking quite confused.

Same...

Tbh serves them right for booking themselves up all of Glastonbury weekend this year :P It's karma for them not coming back when it would make sense for them to! They've grown massively since they played in 2014!

They'll get a big slot whenever they come back. Probably 2017.

It would've made no sense to come back. They already did three UK tours and four or five festivals on one album, do you want six tours and ten festivals? :P

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
