NFR NFC

Hi tommy, yeah I'm good thanks. Had a few days away from efests to concentrate on some real life stuff, but glad to be back. I'm taking gumby jr off to preschool in a wee bit, then I'll have a proper catch up.

How's things with you?

Thanks lucy loo. As whatshisface in The Matrix said, I just think I needed to unplug for a while! Been lurking a bit, but I think I'll go back and see if I've missed anything major :)

I know what you mean! Sometimes a bit of a personal de-frag and reboot does the world of good!

Well 8 weeks to go folks and I've been doing a little lurking on here so I thought I'd introduce myself on this thread so I can maybe join in with a bit of banter from time to time.

My name is Shaun, this will be my 6th Glastonbury although it will be my first one alone. I had to miss out on the last 2 with not being able to get a ticket and work commitments and I thought I was going to miss out this year too but with the help of a few very kind efesters I managed to get a ticket in the resale.

I'm doing lots of planning in my head and spending far too much time on here but sadly that's all I can do at the moment as I'm away working until the 8th June when I get home and can start planning properly. Unfortunately we got hit by the floods last December which wiped out my entire collection of tents and camping gear so I have it all to replace in the 2 weeks that I will have before the festival. It's going to be a mad 2 weeks certainly.

Thats all for now, I'll hopefully get to know a few of you better over the coming weeks.

Shaun.

Hi Gumby good to see you back, hope real life stuff is ok.  I'm off to see my therapist soon to sort out some of my own.  Back later.

xx

So, just been back and reread the last 10 pages....

@Curlygirl Congrats to your brother on the baby news.

@Sawdusty Surfer Sorry to hear about your arm, hope it's on the mend.

@Babylon sister Hope your dog and your brother in law are getting there.

@Funkyfairy! Aren't mermaid leggings a bit of a contradiction?

@ICGenie You've probably got a point about the Bowie stuff on the Thursday, guess we'll have to sort out the meet once we know more (come on, Eavis!) I for one wouldn't miss it for anything if they show his 2000 set that day!

@MilkyJoe , @SwedgeAntilles And all new posters (sorry, didn't make a note of everyone), welcome aboard :)

last but not least, @bennyhana22 and @paulmuchmore, congratulations on your marathon success. I must admit, I had a bit of dust in my eye when reading Ben's account of the weekend. Awesome achievement!

To everyone else, with good stuff or bad stuff going on (sure I've missed a few things), hope today treats you well.

In other news, sun is shining, the weather is sweet.

The ribbon tower is going up! :)

My pile of glasto kit is sorted, just need some new walking shoes, some food and drink, and to get a rip in the tent repaired.

Hearing some good stuff while investigating the confirmed and self-confirmed acts, but I want more!!

I'm behind on my countdown, so I'll rectify that in a minute! :)

Ooooh Dee is something out! I haven't checked today (although silver hayes is not really where I spend much time usually).

Welcome to MJ, how awful that you lost everything in the floods, at least tents can be replaced, hope you didn't lose anything of more sentimental importance, good to see new people joining the thread

Hello Gumby good to see your face again and thanks for the countdown pics!

Loving the silver Hayes line up.

And yes I know there will be people who hate this area at the festival but personally I've had some great times down there and I'm sure I will again this year

I've just had a look back, and worked out that in 5 festivals, I've only been to see 4 acts in Silver Hayes (or dance village as it was). And I only stayed more than 5 or 10 minutes for one of them! Must give it more of a chance this year.

Welcome!

Very sorry to hear about your stuff, the floods in Cumbria were awful. I travel up to Deeside every year for a mini holiday, and Ballater in particular was really badly hit.

Anyway, as an aside, I think the correct collective noun for tents is a 'Glastonbury' of tents.

Thanks for the welcome, we lost quite a few photos but all in all it wasn't too bad. There were certainly people a lot worse off than us although we did lose the entire bottom floor of the house to 4 ft of water! We're not even going to be able to move back in until July!

Thank you for the welcome.:) only tents and camping stuff at the end of the day and can all be replaced. I guess there was a 'Glastonbury of tents' too. Lost 4 altogether and it has suddenly hit me this week that when I get home from work in 6 weeks I'll have less than 2 weeks to replace what I need for the festival as well as working on the house. Going to have to do some online shopping methinks!

Sorry to hear about the flooding! We were in North Wales in December when the floods were bad. Went up in a Mini Cooper, nearly came back home on a tow truck as the car had almost fallen victim to the flood waters. I hope you have an amazing time and meet some cracking people!
