The Placid Casual
Can we stop using the PSB abbreviation? With Public Service Broadcasting in existence, it twists my melon man.
The Placid Casual
They can't book The Pet Shop Boys, because there'd be too PSB acts on the bill and nobody wants that. Two hat Stuart knows!
incident
Pretty much has to be tomorrow or Saturday. Monday would be too late as they need to have the right set times in the programmes which are distributed out on the Monday/Tuesday.At this point it's pretty much certain that the set times in the programmes / guardian guides / etc are going to be wrong - they're usually printed a week or two ahead so if they're not already on site then they're probably in a truck on the way there. It's pretty normal for the programme to be out of date by the time the Festival comes around, there's always plenty of changes on the smaller stages up to and even on the day.Any changes will be advertised on the app / website / screens / digital signage / GFP. That's more than enough notice to people, especially as it's fairly widely reported that Foos pulled out. Maybe there's an outside chance that they slip sheet of paper with an addendum into the programme, or they publish an updated pdf version, but I wouldn't even expect or rely on those happening. FloorFiller
The thought of motorhead subbing is dire though tbh Motorhead seem too high up in that third position imo so to have them sub would be ridiculous (and not something i can see the festival wanting either). i'm fairly certain there'll be a band between Motorhead and Flo
kingcrawler
About as realistic as James subbing. Foals couldn't even sell out the Pilton Party last year. Foals are a bigger deal than James nowadays. They'd sub or headline the Other stage if they played.
hatman
Editors have just announced a new single so appear to be returning to the fray. Are they big enough though?

Nah, come on Foals are way bigger than James. They'll be playing arenas soon!
The Placid Casual
Foals would be a brilliant sub booking. Especially at this stage.

CaledonianGonzo
Can anyone confirm whether Motorhead are likely to turn their guitars up?
FloorFiller
Foals would be a brilliant sub booking. Especially at this stage. i'd definitely take Foals repeating their 2013 show + their new single over Elbow playing an entirely different set of songs, but i feel Foals have too many great things ahead of them to just go and accept a late minute slot like this - they'll be headlining festivals soon enough, this would be a bit of a weird pit stop for them. would rather they come back and do it properly next year
the wonderwhy
I don't think The Strokes will be it, but just as an extra point to the conversation, this setlist looks alright if true, 6 songs from Is This It

hatman
I've been to Bingley. It had Buzzcocks, PiL, James, Reef, The Levellers, and admittedly some modern day landfill indie. Not exactly a cutting edge festival. that year it had jake bugg as well so its not all about older acts
