that was mental. I nearly switched off at half time, too.

I watched a Fox Sports stream, and when Dortmund scored their 3rd the commentator said "that seals it".

Should have! Superb game. Dortmund will be gutted. Liverpool are fairly shit. But kept going. 4 shots on target. 4 goals.

but also, loads more shots that Dortmund - with the same can't shoot straight that's been plaguing them for a while.

Hey, remember a few years ago Liverpool also had a team that couldn't shoot straight, that got strong at the end of that season and then gobsmacked everyone the next?

I do yes. With a few signings this summer who knows. Certainly have the right man in charge. Good attacking football last night that paid off.

Are you listening LVG!! 2nd best defense in the league, goal diff +9. Sunderland have nearly scored as many.

shows that even the europa can have a special european night...

if man city and liverpool win their cups and stop utd at 4th getting in, thatd be ace☺

I dont see City giving up 4th now

I dont see City winning the CL

And irrespective of last night heroics, its still a very very tough task for this LFC team to win this Europa Cup

Isnt thats what makes this game worthy of a watch now and then? Nights like last night, or 1999 in Camp Nou or 2005 in the Ataturk? etc etc.

Absolutely. Just making the point that Sevilla didn't waltz through comfortably.

Although a sign of a good tournament team that they find a way to win when they shouldn't.

True. Was on penos though. Narrowly won away, lost at home and then a lottery.

Some great pens last night

Very true, but they are seasoned Europa cuppers so to be taken pretty God darn seriously. Both Villarreal and Shakhtar were dominant enough in their ties.

LFC can go into the next round confident, but to be arrogant/cocksure is at their peril

Dortmund’s recent form: WWWWWWDWWWWWWWDWWWWWDDL

L is for Liverpool

And one of the D's too.

I've not checked, but read elsewhere last night that Dortmund are 2nd in the german league with the highest ever points total for 2nd after this number of games ...  but the same words also said that Germany is turning into a bit of a 2-team league at the mo, and isn't as strong some suggest.

Liverpool's games against them suggest that might be right, too - tho I do think it's fair to say that Liverpool are a very strong team on the days they click, so basing a comparison purely on those teams league positions perhaps is under-rating the german league.

    • 1000% agree with this. I was there last night, ridiculous how good he was.
    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?
