How about Messi, I think his penalty record is 50% recently.

 

Yeah it's crazy. Really don't get it. Don't even need to hit it with any power, just place it in the top corner; keepers never dive there (imagine how hilarious it'd look for a keeper to dive in the top corner for a penalty and the ball to be placed into the middle of the goal). I hit penalties there when I played football and never missed one; I'm pretty sure Coutinho and Messi are more capable than I am.

Also saw Dean Saunders mentioned earlier. I liked him as manager; nice chap.

I'm not a Motherwell fan but yeah, they signed him. To be fair to him he didn't have much support from midfield but he couldn't hold the ball up and was outpaced by the centre backs a few times. He was a strange signing anyway given they already had four strikers and another out on loan and I imagine his wages aren't that cheap. They've just sacked their manager so not sure how much he'll play now given they've got at least three better strikers imo.

He is a nice bloke and very enthusiastic, however I think he thinks more highly of himself than results suggest. He also had obsession with bringing in "name" players like matt jansen, patrice suffo and some bloke called gyan who had played a europa league final, all terribly suited to the league. He eventually got it right, but it took a long time and endless players to get there.

I watched the Spurs/Arse game last night, and gawd it was dull. Arsenal haven't found their mojo yet this season.

 

Which is probably a bad sign for other teams, given that they're mostly collecting the wins despite playing badly for them.

 

Wasn't it just. It looked like the players had never seen one another before. The only positive performances were Gibbs, Chambers and Sanchez off the bench. Flamini's two goal heroics masked the fact that him, Arteta and Ramsey were completely dominated in the middle of the park - struggled to put more that two passes together, which led the back four to just start playing long ball. It was dire to watch.

It was so bad, even Brendan scarpered before the press conference when he'd normally be talking about his side's 'character' and how tough Carlisle are...

I caught the last ten minutes of each half .... the last ten of the first looked OK-ish, the last ten of the 2nd was dire.

 

I was just settling down in bed with the laptop for extra time when the stream died, and all of the other streams of it died too. The plonkers streaming it had set it on a timer, and not considered extra time. :lol:

In fairness, Liverpool had 47 chances, 16 on target. But most were speculative efforts. Never heard Anfield so quiet. And there were huge queues for taxis outside Anfield while the game was still going on.

Yep. He took us over when we were bottom of the Championship and made us even worse for the rest of the season. He brought in the likes of Pascal Chimbonda, El Hadji Diouf and Frederic Piquionne (along with a load more big name signings) who were all absolutely rancid and stunk the place out.

Although to be fair to him, I'm not sure those signings were his decisions. We got in bed with Willy McKay and started this "experiment" which obviously crashed and burned.

The next season he actually had us heading for promotion until he got nabbed by Wolves, but he did so by destroying the good, passing brand of football we'd established and turned us into a dull, workmanlike team who overpowered everyone else.

Who do you support who offered him a job?

Swansea - he was bookies favourite, think he'd just been sacked along with Souness at Newcastle.

 

We appointed Martinez, at the time still playing in midfield for Chester in League 2, and the rest is history...

      sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.

      Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.

      I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…

      Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
