"My project is to try give the Other Stage its own identity because it's an amazing stage with so much incredible music on it."

Could start by giving it a proper name - "Other" hardly lends it any Identity...

Great they are trying to do something about the Other Stage but short of moving it, I think anything they do will merely be cosmetic. It's still going to suffer from the sound being lost when there's a slight breeze due to it being quite exposed. It is literally just a stage in a field. It's not really got it's own identity like Park, Pyramid, West Holts. Even Williams Green has got it's own identity already. They are a stage and 'an area' So good they are trying with the Other Stage but part of me things they should have killed it and relocated Arcadia there as that needs the open, wide space and would be near Silver Hayes.

Not sure where they could create a new stage to replace Other though.

Intresting, the new other stage, stage is going be some unique. I thought they might have just been changing it to another standard issue stage! I may be more on board with this change!

Apparently Emily hasn't seen the flags getting in people's way, if shes going have a look around and see if Selfie sticks are getting in the way :P

I quite like the current Other Stage they use rather than rectangular ones that are at other festivals but it does need a little bit of love to make it a tad more intresting I guess.

Isn't it just the same as other festivals main stages just without the covers/awning (not too sure what to call it) surrounding the TV screens?

I'm pretty excited about finding out who the secret acts are... the idea of stumbling upon them is lost in the modern world - unless they are shaking things up and opening it later? That area is always quite busy at night time - would be great to see a late night band pop up on the stage. The Other stage does need a bit of a revamp and some love injecting into it, it's the sound aspect that annoys me - it's pretty crap, even for a outdoor venue!

Yeah it's hard to know how they could do properly secret sets. A TBC is obvious, a long gap in between bands is only slightly less obvious. What they could possibly do is not officially open the stage until 5 (for example) and then have a few unannounced bands on before then. In that scenario, even if it leaked that a band was playing, it could be any time over 5 hours so there shouldn't be quite as big a crowd building to watch them unless people stayed the whole time. Would be quite a dedication to secret sets though.

The 'special guests at The Park' probably means Stonebridge Bar and Crow's Nest rather than the Park Stage.

Probably true. Can't see them doing acts the size of Radiohead again. On the plus side I saw Four Tet do a set at Stonebridge bar at about 3pm one day.

After a half bottle of tequila the Spike felt like visiting Lothlorien.

Exactly this - it was just magical. It looks kinda cool in the day but at night it's lit up with a giant glitterball and more - it was simply stunning. I've been in and seen a lot of amazing garden/wood structures and designs and it blew me away when you think that was just scrubland

Cannot wait to show my mate who missed last year, it's very high on the To Do list. Major congrats to Glasto.

There's always the "drunk soul brother" tactic, although I suspect in these days of hyper-Internet scrutiny, publishing a pseudonym would result in one of two things:

1. The artist is identified directly through their alias

2. A totally unknown, ungooglable act is apparently playing at 5pm on The Park. Secret Set alarm bells are triggered.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
