Webcam sunset looking amazing ...

Read this last night, which was something I didn't know.

Will Gater @willgater
UK folks: look east now to see Earth’s shadow rising – it appears as a blue-grey band just above eastern horizon. Above it you’ll see the pinkish ‘Belt of Venus’ – the sunset colours being scattered back towards us by the atmosphere. And within that: the (almost) full Moon.

Site is looking absolutely beautiful and lush this morning.  Noticed 5 flat bed trailers next to the pyramid field. Any idea what they are doing? Cows look uninterested!  It’s really sad looking at the webcam and imagining what a hive of activity it should be but I can’t help myself, Gotta look at it!

Looks like this year is going to need the dust being dampened down ... flat beds might be for straw /hay once it’s been cut ?

The trailers are holding up a wire fence to keep the cows in the area they want. There is work going on in the field so they want to keep them safely out the way

Cheers! Thanks for that. I suppose the enforced cancellation might allow more work to be done on site, especially during the summer months.  Still sad to see the empty fields at this time!

I made a tiny webpage that loads the image, then refreshes it every 5 mins, so you always have the latest view, it's here if you're interested:

Wondering what that yellow jcb is up to ? To the left and slightly back from pyramid Drainage mayb ?

I noticed that, there was a big  pile of soil or something similar there yesterday .  The sunset tonight over the Tor was stunning, I felt quite emotional watching it and thinking how the site should be a hive of activity by now. Had a look through the best shots of past festivals, that did nothing to lift my mood!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
