I'll be floored if Adele is announced as part of the poster. Surely she must be announced any day now? Considering the *plan* is to announce the lineup at the start of April?

I don't think that actually is the plan.  As far as I know, the 1st of April date comes from this video, when asked "will the next two headliners be revealed":

Plus, it was Michael, with his daughter jumping in to correct him.

I can't remember what was said about the Bowie tribute exactly, but is it possible that this could be the Adele sub that nobody can figure out?

Would certainly make a popular night of telly.

i doubt it. just because we can't figure out who it is doesn't mean it'll be something totally unexpected like that - it'll probably end up being Macklemore or something shit. i'm sure the Bowie tribute will be something a lot more low-key, although i love the idea of it getting a high profile slot like this

How many times...

Yes

hmmm ... you claim to know for sure a couple of things, while you defo don't know something else you'd surely know if you had unfettered access to the info you say you have.

So while I don't dispute your claim that Adele is headlining, I do dispute your claim to know with certainty that Radiohead aren't playing (tho whether they're playing or not isn't really part of that, just to be clear).

Oh Neil, don't you know that nothing hurts more than hope?

am i reading too much in to this or are you a little surer that Radiohead are appearing? or are you still just as confident in your original source?

Let me put it this way - As it stands Adele is booked, Radiohead are not

I read that as Neil's source saying they were playing, no mention of headlining and nothing's changed in that respect.

yeah i thought that might be it - he just seemed quick to shoot down willd55's claim that they're not playing, which to me still seems like the most likely outcome, so thought there may have been updated info

I don't know either way. I still only know what I I was told.

My comment to willd255 is based on another of his posts which shows he doesn't have much in the way of detail about the line-up, and therefore the same could apply to his radiohead claim.

could it be something to do with both acts being signed to XL and so he/she has info specifically for those acts and not others?

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
