I completely agree... I despise Coldplay with a passion, I don't mind Adele at all (but will not watch as there's too many other bits happening)... Coldplay will without doubt have a bigger crowd than Adele

Not trying to be over-the-top, but I think it'll be quite a big moment in modern musical history and hyped up as one as well. I can't see any of the rumoured Other Stage headliners drawing away a lot of folk curious to see the biggest artist of the past few years either, and obviously the size of the act scales down therein. It'll be a biggie.

Yeah wasn't trying to take away from how huge it'll be, but the tick it off thing will be somewhat of a factor. It'll definitely be a huge deal though, and whether the crowd will stick around for the majority or not, to begin with it'll be absolutely booming

The possible Adele / New Order and Coldplay / BMTH clashes will suck for me. Basically because I have no interest in seeing any of them. Park or JP look likely destinations already for Sat n Sun.

You can do a Glastonbury without going near the Pyramid or other and still see a massive crop of world-class bands. I'd be more worried about the Park and West Holts being cut out.

I love how people think Adele wont draw a big crowd, assuming somehow everyone who buys her records dont also go to festivals, and people who go to festivals will only listen to 6Music. How naive.

Whether she will be good or not, thats an opinion. To say she wont get a big crowd is complete fuckwittery.

Yeah I find her music dreary as hell but she'll get a good sized crowd. She's internationally famous, is one of the most popular artists around, has never played the festival before and while not everyone will be going because they love her songs, a fair few will go out of curiosity to see how she does. I'm intrigued as to how she'll perform, but not nearly enough to want to sit through 2 hours of her warbling.

No way. Adele is way bigger than Coldplay at the moment. Plus Coldplay have toured regularly for years as well as playing Glastonbury a number of times - plenty of people who may have gone to see them won't because they've already 'ticked them off'. Adele hasn't done a lot of touring and isn't known for headlining festivals. It will be the one to be at.

Adele if she plays no matter when, will be billed as a headliner, i doubt she will have any special guests, it will be pretty awesome and be a great moment potentially stealing the show at the festival. Just rolling through those songs for about an hour and a half and make some history.

I'm keen for the Pyramid/Other to continue their usual pattern of having headliners that don't/barely interest me so that I am not distracted from the stages that are, naturally, much more my kind of stuff - especially the magnificent Park. With the bands touring this year, I could easily see myself wanting to be at The Park for all three of my 2016 headliners.

The issue with this whole Adele argument is that both sides make good and valid points; she's never really done big gigs and so no-one has a clue how she'll go over or what her audience will be like. 

Perhaps all parties are being very sensible regarding her playing and her slot and this may account for lots of the seemingly contradictory intelligence being gleaned at present.

Maybe Adele is committed to playing Glastonbury but she and Glastonbury aren't sure she can hold a field for a full headline slot, or that she can cope with the pressure of it, so they're waiting to see how her shows in March at the O2 go before deciding. If they go really well and she shows she can pull off a headline-type set, she plays as Saturday night headliner with "4th headliner" Muse subbing. If she feels she isn't right for headlining, she subs Radiohead on the Saturday and Muse headline Friday.

Her prospective crowd will be hugely influenced by how those gigs go, I suspect.

Not that I am arsed really but New Order from a live going perspective do not shift tickets like they used to. They have still not sold out Castlefield (although it will sell out). People are still interested in them but the vest majority of their fans are aged 35 onwards and many no longer go to gigs. They have never gone away so there is no reunion hype. 

They will get a good crowd at Glastonbury and will imo pull the biggest of all the other stage acts.

Don't know if that is such a done deal. Remember that the last time LCD played in the UK they were not Other stage headliners, they definitely weren't suffering from any sort of touring fatigue from UK fans, they were at their peak. It really does depend on how well know Shut Up And Play The Hits, along with their US hype has made them. They're my favourite band, but I still have to say that I think that it's anybody's game for who gets the smallest crowd on the Other, be it LCD, New Order or BMTH. If this forum was anything to go by then LCD would be one of the biggest crowds of the festival, but the same can be said for all sorts of acts who've pulled tiny crowds over the years.
