eFestivals
I was referring to "[bestival] still has to announce its final headliner for this year.... Matt Bellemy of Muse [has] revealed its them."Care to tell me where and when Bestival has announced its final headliner to make that literally incorrect? Frankly Mr Shankly
Care to tell me where and when Bestival has announced its final headliner to make that literally incorrect? It has two headliners left to announce: Friday & Sunday. The way that the article is written makes it sound like Muse are the last headliner to be announced. I think that's where the confusion is... LondonTom
oh it has. Scott will be getting a virtual slap for his cock-up. That said if Duran Duran had been bumped up I could Rob after getting Muse! God I am excited about this!
Gucci Piggy
To be fair, Bestival did tweet the other day that they only had one headliner to announce. Maybe they just assumed everyone had seen this self-confirmation, which seemed to slip completely under the radar (if the video was out before the tweet). Now we know this I would assume the tweet meant Sunday's headliner was the among the next announcements (along with the stages it named in the tweet) as this one might not be announced for six weeks. Ah fair enough. Yeah when the tweet first came I assumed either that was the case, or that an act had been bumped to headliner.
Zacko
Very unexpected booking - what do we reckon this will do for ticket sales? Will it sell out any quicker, this is the latest ive ever left getting a ticket so might have to jump on the payment plan asap
smogo
I think it sold out in July when the Cure were headlining, so I'd expect similar this year. (Mind you, capacity was a bit lower back then.) Edited May 4, 2015 by smogo
thewayiam
Either way, Muse are poor now anyway.
Gucci Piggy
They'll never hit the heights of Starlight ever again.
thewayiam
They'll never hit the heights of Starlight ever again. The thing is though, they probably won't while they're making not even to be considered cheesy shite like Dead Inside! For the record, New Born, Bliss and Blug In Baby are 3 of my favorites by them. Bisque
My mate at Muse at Glastonbury still describes it as "like being at the epicentre of the world's apocalypse" The new stuff is a bit duff though.
smogo
Presumably they'll be playing a festival-friendly set full of the old classics though, right?
Bisque
Presumably they'll be playing a festival-friendly set full of the old classics though, right? Yeah but they'll be a few of the shitty recent singles & a couple of new tracks. I hope RDB just sticks them on for ages so we get everything decent & can go get a cider when Neutron Star Collision is on.

They only played it 3 times after release, they KNOW it's crap, that's why they let twilight use it haha
Zacko
I remember that Glastonbury gig being really, really loud. Not sure I'll see them at Bestival or not but the Chems and them are really impressive bookings.
LondonTom
Presumably they'll be playing a festival-friendly set full of the old classics though, right? We'll get their tour setlist, bit weird as they are going festivals rather than thier own shows this summer...so who knows really Hopefully its the promised heavy setlists and the mini pyscho tour had a few raritys/older songs As for sales, hard to say, since you can't get day tickets but Bestival is a bit of a ballache to get to! The60ftOctopus
Can we get the announcement now Download is over?
dentalplan
I guess. Though if the other is Kylie then they could wait a week and announce both in one go.
LondonTom
Yeah I think it will later this week/next week as I am sure they have the clean up/taking stock of Bestival Toronto to consider to.
Frankly Mr Shankly
I doubt they'll announce while the focus is on Glastonbury so it either needs to be sometime this week or the first week of July.
LondonTom
Good point, would make sense after Glastonbury then? Everyone on high from the weekend still/new punters ready to go to a festival after watching BBC...and Bam! You announce one of the biggest UK acts around!
