Me too.

I'm excited when I'm on my way, see Glastonbury Tor.....then:

1. get into the car parks. First butterfly's when you're reminded the sheer number of people there

2. Join the queue at Gate D. More butterflys. "christ, this queue is big, it's only 9am.....I hope I can get my preferred camping spot'

3. Still in the queue, first glimpse of the campsites.. "christ there's more already in than last year" Worried I won't get my preferred camping area

4. IN!! wristband on, bag, the open space of the post gate area. Relief

5. Start walking towards campsites Christ, there are loads and loads already in, can't see any obvious space. Start fretting and panicking a little.

6. Still walking.... see a vacant spot.....not my preferred area but it's a space. Stick or twist. camp or walk on further

7. Panic rising. Should have take that spot, can't see any open spaces

8. Arrive at preferred field. Shit. Everyone is here.

9. see a small spot...head over... fretting....is that gonna be big enough?

10. arrive.....it's much bigger than you thought.....easy......tent erecting time. Sweating.

11. Tent up, chuck rucksack in, get chair, grab drink. Relief. utter relief.

12. fart

13. Unpack rucksack, scatter everywhere.

14. get to know the neighbours. Exchange queueing war stories.

15. Go for a mooch and let it all soak in.

This- apart from the fart !!

Read this thread again today - love it love it love it, and it made me all emotional again

And this thread proves that 'that feeling' , 'that Glastonbury feeling' is more than just the bands, its more than just the music, 'that feeling' is the most amazing thing to experience once, and just as special knowing its going to happen again whenever you're lucky enough to get a golden ticket

Enjoy the build up - its all part of this amazing journey :-)

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
