Oh. I disagree; I reckon Major Lazer are probably big enough to headline NME at least. Jungle will be around anyway I'd have thought.

they played before ASAP in 13, arguably when they were peaking. Subbing the NME would be about right . Edited by A_Hawky

I was predicting them in that slot for a while, but based on other August festivals I think Major Lazer would be more likely if anybody's going to be between them.

I had been predicting Jungle for that slot also, still think they could do it. If they gave Dedmau5 a Disclosure length NME headline set they'd be a very nice alternative to Kendrick for me.

Well I'm not so sure but I did say that about Rebel Sound so what do I know. I have Major Lazer down as likely to do closing slot next year. They could be the unannounced dance stage headliner this year I guess

No how did you work this out?

Most of the hype surrounding Diplo at the minute is Jack ü related, since their album was released.

Major Lazer played RandL after releasing their three/ four biggest singles. Pon de floor/ Bubble But/ get free/ etc

I understand Major Lazer are releasing two albums this year, but when they're gunna be released- I'm not sure. Like I said, the last few months have been very Jack ü orientated so it'll be interesting to see how much work they've done on the new albums. If they're released, obviously they'll rise in popularity.

Before they played in 2013, they had released 11 singles (ish) but since then they've released 2/3, so it's evident work has slowed down, they've released one this year so far And it's orite. I expect a couple more before the festival regardless of whether the albums are out, so we will see how they go.

So because Wikipedia says so? :P

I thought their live performances were the major factor for them. They seem to be playing much higher slots worldwide than their 2013 tour nowadays and I couldn't see it being different at R+L. Subbed Bestival too which is a bloody good slot - better than NME sub I reckon.

No, I actually like ML.

In 2012 TDCC subbed Bestival, and subbed NME tent at LF. And they've had a couple other people sub who wouldn't play Tht high at LF, eg Franz Ferdinand. (Courtesy of Efestivals)

LTJ are a decent bet for the lock up/pit. WAS did it last year so unlikely I reckon

LTJ would be headlining The Pit/Lockup if they were playing that. I know but early August in Europe again says shows it could happen. Playing Y-Not-Fest to, shares a decent crossover usually, low main Sunday would be good.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
