Its no bigger than getting Metallica and Sabbath in the same year, like they did in 2012.

In a way 2012 was bigger as Metallica are bigger but being this'll be billed as the last ever festival show, that adds some weight. There is still no competition to who'll bag it though.

Worth noting that Tool are doing a fairly elaborate setup specifically for festivals.

The Raven Age self Confirmed for Sonisphere a few weeks ago, now they've just been announced for Maidens world tour, could it be that maiden are playing Sonisphere after all.

Not true at all, there's plenty of bands out there who are big enough to play.

 

That didn't help them much this year.

Where have they self confirmed? And definitely Soni UK?

 

I mean, if Steve Harris' son's band know they're doing Sonisphere UK now (or are in place to do it) then that does seem a considerable link between Maiden and Soni for next year.

On the Sonisphere forums. Told someone at a gig, definitely Knebworth. On a different forum I've also read that someone met Steve Harris backstage at a British Lion gig this past month and they asked whether he will be at Sonisphere, all he said was wait and see.

 

All I know is that Slipknot are heavily rumoured and Steel Panther will be taking up a very high spot.

 

I wonder if the Knotfest rumours are true and they are taking it to the UK next year.

Haha, I did some googling around after I posted that and found something about it on fourtheye, which was talking about Soundwave, so must have been that.

Erm, Download posted a video to their Twitter of the Download Dog going to HMV and buying That's The Spirit.

 

Do all bands that the Download Dog goes to the shop to buy the album of end up headlining?

If BMTH are out there's still plenty options.

In my opinion Download are likely to have SOAD and Sabbath. I think they will go for a more commercial 3rd headliner such as Biffy or The Prodigy.

You may as well put 2 of, Sabbath is a no brainer.

I would too, now, but lightning seems convinced BMTH aren't headlining and he was right last year.

 

Sabbath, Maiden and Metallica would be a real no-brainer. SOAD instead of the latter though, I guess.
