Good news.

Huge improvement for Sunday from earlier, which basically has no rain now. Thursday also clear now. We still have the showers on Friday with the threat of something further north.

We've lost some of the heat on Saturday, but all is still good.

Weds: No rain, max temp same as before at 20, pressure stable.

Thurs: Now no rain forecast unlike earlier and no danger in view, max temp same as before at 22, pressure stable.

Fri: Light showers in the afternoon to early evening, with the threat of something a bit more (but really not much) early evening if the rain set to hit Wales comes further south, pressure maybe a little lower. Max temps of 20 so a degree lower than before.

Sat: No rain to speak of forecast, pressure maybe a little lower.  Cooling continues with max temp now of 19

Sun: Big improvement here with no rain now forecast to hit until 3pm (was around midnight before). And even then it is literally a drizzle. Max temp of 22, so up a whopping 5 degrees from earlier. Pressure much higher as it keeps the rain band from hitting the UK.

Is it windy on site, looking at the glasto can, all flags are fully elevated with the wind?

The flags all have top rails so they fly all the time

Having successfully deflected my work stress until after the festival I was entirely ready for a shock. Still waiting. :)

Your posts are a very helpful summary, thanks. What time's the next update?

Always helps when they're positive, too!

Starting about 11pm for the GFS run. J10 weather report normally about 10pm. Loads more in the morning.

Yeah it will be about 11.15 by the time we get Sunday.

J10 normally posts 7pm-9pm though (but it will be based of these models anyway)

Next update is the 12z ensembles, should be with us in half an hour or so

This is much more fun than when we were picking which apocalypse we fancied

I'm popping out to play football (hopefully not getting an injury...) so I expect good news!

What does the "z" refer to?  Actually, what does the number before the "z" refer to also??

Or should I not worry my dunce-y head about it?

Think it's Z for 'Zulu' which is the international code for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) with the numbers being the time.

Exactly. We get them late (up to 6 hrs late) because it takes a while to get from the US computers to the NetWeather computers and then turned into pretty maps.

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
