Thrilled tho I am with these charts a word of caution. On the Thursday evening up untill late afternoon on Friday in 2013 it was pretty shitty underfoot in some places so all this flipflop or trainer speak may be a bit premature.

Tomorrow is make or break day for me.

I've pulled a mega shift today so that i could take tomorrow as a days holiday so i've been unable to come on here today. Could someone be kind enough to give me a brief summary of how the weather has unfolded over the last 15 hours or so to save me trawling through all the pages?

Why is every single forecast I look at different? Monsoon, drought and everything in between, stop fucking with me and just tell me there'll be some sun and some rain like usual, we'll all have a lovely time and fucking forget what the weather even was by the time we're home.

Monsoon in click-bate. Ignore it.

It has been a tour-de-force year for the OTT glastonbury weather headlines.

The MailSun is probably now desperately recruiting hundreds of early twenties girls to doll up in flowers and wellies none the less

Official lucky charm then.

To be fair I have a mate coming this year who went in 2008 and 2013 but not 2011 and 2014....

My mate has been 2010 and 2013. I went solo 2011 & 2014. Both times I went solo the line up was amazing (allowing for personal taste etc.). He's coming this year, line up not the best. Nailed on perfect weather.

Fri: Bit worse than earlier. Quite a bit of light rain skirting around Glastonbury but nothing showing to hit until around 3pm. Could on and off showers all day with potentially some heavier stuff early evening. The threatening rain further north though is now less concentrated, and as such less threatening generally. Hopefully that trend develops in the morning. Max temps of 20 same as before, pressure stable.

We're getting the heavy stuff, then. The place'll be an absolute shit-tip on Saturday morning.

IN FULL

So mixed news tonight. Definitely a bit more rain on the radar for Friday - but that is now the only day which is showing any definite rainfall. Sunday has been a big winner over the course of this evening and is now pretty much dry.

Weds: No rain, max temp a degree higher at 21, pressure stable.

Thurs: No rain, max temp a degree lower at 21, pressure stable.

Fri: Bit worse than earlier. Quite a bit of light rain skirting around Glastonbury but nothing showing to hit until around 3pm. Could be on and off showers all day with potentially some "heavier" stuff early evening (not of the catastrophic variety I must add, just heavier than the light showers). The threatening rain further north though is now less concentrated, and as such less threatening generally. Hopefully that trend develops in the morning. Max temps of 20 same as before, pressure stable.

Sat: There might be a very small amount of rain early afternoon, but it's barely worth mentioning, rest of the day dry.  Temps same as before around 19, pressure stable.

Sun: Another big improvement here with no rain now forecast to hit at all. In fact the dangerous band of rain is now hitting much further north in the UK and clear of Glasto. There is the chance of the odd shower, but only on the tail end of what is coming in from the Atlantic. Max temp of 20, so 2 degrees down from earlier. Pressure a little lower than earlier.

Doesn't look too scary on the 3hr charts, it's all showery splatter. We can but wait and see

Did we get a rainfall figure on site for the last 24hrs?

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
