Anybody listen to radio1 this morning on Grimmys show. They were talking about the weather at glastonbury but i only caught the end of it. But from what i could make out it wasnt sounding positive!

Don't think you'll get many on here listening to his show!

This is like folk wondering if someone is pregnant with a boy or a girl and then claiming its one or the other based on something other than a definitive sex test, like size of bump, heartburn, activity, the way a crystal swings etc etc

Weather predictions right now are like circles. Totally pointless.

There will be "wash out" articles and scorchio articles on this over the next few weeks. Tis all click bait.

Start looking from Sunday Week................

So what your saying is that we need to look at all the data again?

Latest update from the websites currently forecasting amounts of rainfall for the festival:

242tl77.jpg

I don't have anything to add to this, it's just very very sexy and I wanted to see it more.

It did rain Thursday night/ Friday morning I think in 2008 as I remember load of our group being miserable expecting a repeat of the previous year. The rest of it was great though I think

The groan across site as that rain started really was palpable - I 99% knew it wasn't going to be serious but the heart still sank like a stone. Scarred.

Last year as the storm started there was a groan... then I can honestly say it was probably my favourite ever glastonbury moment. People dancing to random bars playing music, people doing a hokey cokey, we met a few people we will never see again and shared a drink in the rain and a dance.

Everyone where we where came together and loved it.

Answer me this, why is the weather, well, so, so utterly shit? All the fucking time?

Is it because there is a God and he/she is a total dickhead?

It just saves it for when you're not at work - I've got plenty farmer tan already :D

I was having a bad day today in the office. Someone came over and wanted a word and I thought "oh gawd, what now!?" He said he wanted to mention something about Glasto. I thought, oh that's cool, go on then. He then proceeded to tell me he heard it was going to be very, very wet and muddy. Yes we kinda expect it, but totally bummed me out for a bit. You do hope it'll be sunny throughout. 2 and a bit weeks off - can they really predict that far ahead?!

Not really, but now you know exactly why they print those articles - so folk who aren't going can feel good about it and take glee in informing the lucky few that they're going to have a horrible time - schadenfreude sells papers

Sometimes we do know properly in advance eg. 2010, sometimes it's hoping a threatening low goes the right way eg. 2013, sometimes it's hoping the low fucks off eg. 2014 - we're somewhere between the first two now but still too far to put my money down by a long way

I loved the storm last year - what scares me are the words "persistent rain".

    • Pretty sure some will be more than that.
    • It's a shame for lots of bands cancelling tours due to poor ticket sales but I'm one of the culprits as I'll wait now closer to the time as theres always a chance of a seat filler or Twickets for half the price. If the bands charged a reasonable price to start with then they'll sell out regardless. Look at Paul Heaton, £39+fees tickets for arenas where some bands are charing £150+fees for the same arena. Prices for drinks in those places is a joke too so many pick and choose.
    • Might just wait it out for the summer shows that got mentioned tbh
    • Good on him i think, though it depends on whether he really does love the music (like Steve Davis) or is just moving into it as a bizarre career option (Gok Wan, from the ten mins i observed from the side of a field once, stood there with no idea whats going on)
    • Better Man, Black maybe. I guess was the same for Metaliica.   They do have a history of bringing on some big guests, for example Pete Townsend and play Who numbers. My gut is they would prob pull it off but they'd get a section of crown leave after a bit. I don't see it happen even though I'd love it.    Other Stage would be immense.   I seem to remember Emily Eavis watching at a Wembley arena night and if it was regular gig with more random unknown fan favourite songs she saw she prob thought not suitable for Pyramid.
