When the rain came in 2013 it was a fucking massive buzzkill. I was in shorts and tshirt, and in the space of an hour it went from being sunny and warm to cold and wet.

We sheltered in our tents for an hour or so hoping it would pass, when we realised it wasn't going to we wrapped up and went to the park for a drink, which had turned into a muddy mess. Once we'd had a few drinks, the rain eased off and everyone was cheery again. But it nearly ruined Thursday afternoon...in short 2013 was not perfect festival weather!

I can't remember the sunday being chilly in 2013, i remember sitting outside silver hayes in glorious sunshine and thinking glastonbury weather was always this good

It was gloriously sunny in the morning/early afternoon, then it went very overcast mid afternoon onwards.

Not sure what rain you speak of - there was hardly any.

Thursday in 2013 was horrible. It wasn't just a sprinkle it was a downpour, and it was right when things were starting to kick off too

You clearly don't know what "horrible" is in relation to Glasto! That was quite literally a walk in the park.

I have to disagree I'm afraid - you were just under prepared

IIRC we were outside avalon inn chatting to some old hands we'd sat at the table with, we all put our coats on and carried on. Went to catch up with my other mates and it stopped raining and we put our coats away.

No bad weather, just wrong clothing. Mostly. 2007 was wrong weather.

It's all about context I reckon. I was in the Avalon Cafe when the rain started (and it was pretty heavy in that first shower) and it was about an hour or so later that I left to go meet with the kids. We had something to eat and went up the park also, but decided that as we also weren't dressed for the weather we'd head back to the tents in South Park and dry off and rest up. Needless to say, there was some napping all around, so it could have been the end of our night, were it not for the flames of arcadia illuminating the tents to wake us up and tell us the rain was over. Some discussion took place and we all headed off out into the night, my son to arcadia and then the park, my daughter, her fella and me to Shangri-la, all getting back around dawn much the happier for the lucky rest stop we'd managed to fit in.

Id take 2010 weather again, loved the sun beating down on me for the full festival, it made the festival look absolutely glorious

That was the only glastonbury that the weather negatively affected the festival for me since I have been going.

I found it very hard, but still enjoyable.

20 degrees would be much better than 30.

I had a cracking time in 2010, but we did have to take it easy on the Sunday as my daughter was struggling.

I've had heatstroke and severe sunburn at festivals in heatwaves before, so I totally sympathise with those who had issues in 2010, I'd take it again in a shot though :P

It wasn't just the fact I couldn't get hammered due to the heat. It was the fact I saw no acts during the day that I wanted to as I can stay about 2 seconds in the sun without burning. I was just stood at the back of the dance tents / John Peel to escape the sun.

Sunday, I decided to just go to the Pyramid stage all day. As I had seen so little all weekend I thought "the pyramid line up looks good, I'll stay there". Had a great time. Burnt myself to a crisp - factor 50 was about as much use as putting butter all over me, but I did enjoy myself.

It's just about dealing with it.

I was similar situation as at the Cockmill bar all afternoon in flip flops and realized the rain wasn't gonna stop so remained in bar a bit long, but rain still won't stop....by the time we came out and started walking around realized mud was not flip flop friendly so trekked back to dairy to put boots on

Mud was all in my toes, up my legs and I was cold, did have a mini sulk but got to the tent cleaned myself up, had a can of cider, got the warm clothes/boots on and away I went again lol

to be fair that was the only rain for the weekend and it was still sunny but with more cloud coverage than 2010 so for me 2013 was ideal :)

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
