They all only got and will get 75 mins.

Pulp got 90 minutes at both sites in 2011.... and I think it's a bit different with biffy this year, with them closing at both sites (according to Biffy, still don't trust it too much, as I'm a pessimist :P )

On their website and with their Tweet, but the FB status was strange and didn't explicitly state they were closing the day at leeds (Which has me mega worried haha)

just looked it up "The band will close the main stage in both Leeds on Friday 26th August and in Reading on Sunday 28th August, and will see Biffy play the festival for the 10th time." that seems pretty definitive to me bro, i wouldn't be worried if i was you. xD

Interpretations >.> They could just be saying that as they are classed as a headliner. I think we'll know for certain with the April announcement, as I think we'll get stage splits and confirmation on who's finishing which site out of Disclosure and Foals, and we should get confirmation for Biffy and FOB.

if Biffy end up getting 90 minutes and closing both sites and FOB only 75 then i don't know why they bother calling them co-headliners other than to make the quick repeat booking of Biffy seem a little less shite. either way they clearly got themselves in a bit of trouble headliner-wise this year and have panicked in an attempt to make it all look less shite than it is (making a big deal about being the first festival(s) to have 5 headliners etc)

although they obviously fucked up the headliner they actually wanted. this is by no means shite. Biffy are a class act. also they call FOB headliners for marketing purposes. 5 literally looks better than 4 in this case.

I don't know why they're worried about the headliners either, RHCP, Foals and Biffy is far stronger than last year with Mumford & Sons Libertines and Metallica. RHCP haven't exactly caned the UK Festival scene to the extent that Metallica has, and have at least released a record this decade, so they're probably of a similar strength for the RnL market, Foals are bigger than Libertines, actually have enough material to fill a proper set, and aren't shit, and Biffy shit all over Mumford & Sons and Libertines combined. Our subs are also bigger than last year too. Last year was pretty shit really, Metallica totally save the line up, with Limp Bizkit and Deadmau5 headlining NME.

well the last time RHCP played they absolutely stunk the place out, although i guess not that many of the people going this year will know or remember that as it was 9 years ago. Foals aren't bigger than The Libertines - Foals are a band on the rise whereas The Libertines have a huge lasting fanbase. Biffy may be better than Mumfords but they only headlined 3 years ago which makes it seem like a bit of a weak booking. Mumfords are shite but at least it was their first ever time headlining. whatever way they try and market it, it's a weak top of the bill

Often because a band says one thing doesn't actually mean that'll happen, a lot of the time people get the wrong end of the stick or things change so until R+L announce anything regarding Biffy closing both sites I'm taking it with a pinch of salt. Hopefully they'll close out Leeds however if not and 1975 areon the NME it'll give me the chance to go watch them so happy days either way.

Plus it could be worse than watching Many Of Horror as the sun sets.

I also think this year is stronger. It's at least notable too, whereas last year was straight down the middle boring and I feel like they misjudged a couple of bits. The Libertines were well and truly milked by the time the festival came around last year and the new album that made the difference between them subbing in 2010 and headlining in 2015 did a fair bit worse than the apparent (but not really) flops by the two new headliners this year Foals and Disclosure. Coheadlining with Kendrick might have been cool, but I guess R+L weren't to know how massive TPAB was gonna be.

Yeah I agree. I'll actually be surprised if that happens as Melv has previously actually explained a coheadline scenario as one act headlines one and one headlines another, rather than it just being how it's happened before.

I couldn't really imagine them changing it for Biffy seeing as; a) it'd be odd for FR to reach out and sorta help Biffy with this slot just for the band's people to twist their arm around their proverbial backs and demand to headline both sites; and b) Fall Out Boy don't consider support slots beneath them (supporting RHCP at Tennents Vital) so billing them as coheadliners when they don't need to be strikes me as weird too.

really want foals to do a longer set than just there usual hour fifteen but you're probably right. I want to hear Cassius, miami and this orient live but they said the latter was near impossible to play live. Oh well, still they will bring a well balanced set usually a decent amount from all four albums. (except TLF which was probably there worst album, only songs i like are miami and Spanish Sahara)

So you only like Miami and Spanish Sahara off Total Life Forever, but you still want them to play This Orient? ;)

  • Late Night
  • Inhaler

It's by far their best for me, yeah. Think it did the worst commercially though but could be wrong.

Architects have announced a new album for May. I know they're at Download, but I'd love for them to be at R&L. Pit headliner would be immense. Although, I can see them skipping this year and playing Main Stage in 2017.

What did you think of the new song? I thought it was just alright to be honest. Sounds like a left over from Lost Forever in my opinion.

I really like it. Its just very Architects, really, isn't it :P

I'm REALLY looking forward to the new album though. Hopefully it makes them huge.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
