Weighing in on the Subway debate; Italian BMT on Hearty Italian w/ lettuce, tomato, cucumber, sweetcorn, jalapenos & southwest sauce. Exchanging Chicken & Bacon for BMT is less common but also suffice.

Those weak subs that are weak because of the lower day ticket prices but stronger than last year's when the day ticket prices were higher.

You're calling VW and Jake Bugg weaker than Alt-J and and BMTH?

So Bring Me the Horizon?

Is that a balls sub or just a fucking shit booking?

Both

BMTH being sub just doesn't make sense - especially when you consider that all time low - who have arguably had more success than bmth are 4th down. And last year YM@6, who have also had more success than BMTH were 3rd.

But it is what it is and I personally think Bring Me are going to rock and do a pretty good job subbing

As I've before and say again, if it wasn't as strong a booking as Metallica, given they sell tickets at not far off the full day ticket value, there isn't a fucking chance BMTH would have subbed. Lineups for R&L have got weaker over the years and the price adjust recognizes that. If they were selling enough at £100 then why change it. The major influx of dance etc over the last couple years shows the fact that, I'll call it current "indie/rock" bollocks because I believe it is, just the next band to come along, make a decent enough single/maybe two and be forget the next year is because that's what is hot with teens atm.

I find Subway too bland. No matter which sandwich I get, and no matter how different the fillings are, they always taste the same to me.

Greggs does better sandwiches. Serious.

Regarding the subs this year. I kind of think that as a group they're pretty weak. They're all acts that have collectively only been in the limelight for a small matter of years.

There's no well established acts amongst them like System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, Pulp, The Strokes, Elbow, The Libertines, Queens Of The Stone Age or The Prodigy like we've had in recent years. I think the line-up could have done with someone of that calibre in between Metallica and Bring Me The Horizon.

I'd argue Kendrick is an established sub, but I doubt many would agree with me.

He is, but what I was saying is that he's only really been around three or four years.

There was that fake leaked poster that did the rounds on the day of the first announcement, and it was weirdly similar to what we ended up with, but it had The Prodigy subbing Metallica.

Enter Shikari's latest tour has got some pretty big venues, including some arenas. Could make the jump to sub next year.

Playing Nottingham Arena with The Wonder Years as support! And its on a Saturday. Jesus that is going to be one hell of a night!

Catfish and The Bottlemen

Standard main stage crowd surf to Juggernauts gets my vote.

That said, I think I have seen Zzzonked live 8 times now and that song alone has probably knocked 10 years off my life expectancy.

Quite like the look of that line up Andre!

I saw the tweet that Shikari put out and I just thought "Why are The Wonder Years ta...HOLY SHIT!!!!!" then I was just freaking out over this. Way better than supporting LTA!!! :D

Going to try to get tickets for Manchester but I have an exam on Tuesday so I'll probably miss out on the presale, but I'm going to get those tickets dammit!

I'm genuinely really excited at the thought of it already :)

Arena's don't necessarily mean sub. ATL, YMAS, ADTR, Gaslight Anthem can all attest to that.

I think they'll move up to third but sub is a bit of a leap.

    • Haha I see you cherry-picked 3 of the very few acts that wouldn't typically appeal to them! 🤣   That's good then. I thik I'll just bring my laptop and try to hotspot it from my phone's data. cheers mate 🙂
    • I like to think of GB News as Iannucci and Morris just REALLY committing to the bit

    • Disclosure Day was fun.  It's very Spielberg but probably not an all time classic Spielberg. Nothing particularly original but it's well made, good performances (exceptional performance by Emily Blunt) and for a 2 hour plus blockbuster it flew by. Not everything worked, but I don't want to say why to avoid spoiling. Then again, it's not like there are too many shocks in this film.
    • Do these early birds tickets sell out fast, or is it ok to wait for the w-e ?
