chewsavedlatin
and you go to GF why exactly? To watch bands I like, maybe check out some recommendations and have a laugh with my mates. Not to go an watch an someone I'm aware of and have no interest in (Dolly Parton, Dalai Lama etc) purely as its the thing to do and be seen. CaledonianGonzo
Fair enough, but you could extend the same perspective to folk attending either Dolly or the DL. Anyone attending anything at Glastonbury to 'be seen' is on a bit of a fool's errand - it's difficult to stick out much in a crowd of 100 thousand people. stuartbert two hats
Sadly, the closest his holiness got to Hull was Bridlington. http://www.hulltrains.co.uk/blog/our-magazine/6-july/high-street-sales-and-business-ethics/ Edited January 6, 2015 by stuartbert two hats

Of course I could, but I'm not going turn round to them and say that they should of been watching some minimal techno in the dance tent instead. CaledonianGonzo
If I had a penny for every time someone on here's said I should have been at The North Mississippi Allstars gig instead of Dolly I'd have about 4 or 5 pence.
chewsavedlatin
Maybe I should of checked them out. I can't remember who I was watching instead, I think Jake Bugg.
russycarps
who are these mysterious people who question what acts you went to see at glastonbury? I cant say I've ever walked out of a field and been accosted by angry people telling me I should have been elsewhere. What a peculiar life to lead. mr gumby
Review from recent lamagig...http://louderthanwar.com/dalai-lama-manchester-arena-live-review/ I bumped into John Robb, who wrote that review, at the Crow's Nest at Glasto last year. Chatted for a bit about his time with The Membranes. A really nice fella!

CaledonianGonzo
Dolly Parton's crowd could beat all the other crowds in a fight. I think that's what's important here.

kemosabe
Really looking forward to seeing the Dalai Lama, read his autobiography a few years ago and found it fascinating. Definitely a must see for me!
LondonTom
not to disrespect anyone from Hull but why would anyone watch a documentary on Hull? Come home from work, sit down whack the tv on and just skimming through the channels, ahhhh here we go BBC4 "Hull: The City of Dreams" perfect Well one was more just featuring Hull, as they were travelling along the East Coast on a train and the other other was about the fishing boats from Hull. (I only remember them as my dad happened to have them on the TV recently, I am not some sort of mad Hull enthusiast whose never actually visted. ). Hmmm, you sure about that? The fake boobs are actually very cleverly disguised weapons , kind of a Bond esque gadget... Edited January 6, 2015 by LondonTom
