I thought it sounded a bit odd. Maybe it's an Afterburner exclusive, which is different to the spider I believe? Either way, happy to see it back at Glasto, even though I don't spend much time there these days.

I would be nice if this year they could figure out the best way to make the most of it. Maybe something around the edge of that field? It's such a massive space but everyone has to get inside the ring of speakers, so there's always a load of 'dead' space outside that. Obviously they don't want overcrowding, but something to add a bit of 'soul' into that field would be nice.

Yeh, I finally dragged my techno-head mate along last year to some drum and bass at the spider, but we were so far back it sounded a bit shit...Obviously I was still loving it, but he was definitely not. Ended up having to take him to Strummersville for some time out instead. Although, maybe he's just a bit lame and it had nowt to do with sound quality.

On another note, what are the chances of Claptone getting rebooked after his dismal failing to show up last time. Ihalf believe the stories that he was off his face somewhere - because the security just told me he was "lost".

There's still an article, it just includes the line "The spider will appear at Glastonbury"  Presumably this is new?

Yeah that's a revision, there was no mention of the afterburner at all in the first one, just referred to it as Arcadia

I've missed the mad panic by now anyway, but it's worth remembering that a few years ago another event claimed they had an exclusive on whatever show Arcadia were doing at the time.

Arcadia ran Glastonbury as normal, and just gave the show a different name.

Whilst I am the eternal optimist and minded to agree with you, Mez, that linked article from Tuna is pretty unequivocal in its message. Just a case of whether or not the message is bollocks.

But what is it with this ever expanding festival exclusive w*nk?

Bands...hmmm...OK, yeah, commercial strategies blah blah blah. DJs? File under same.

But stages? Whole bloody installations? Sorry, but that's total anathema to me in terms of the spirit of festivals, and Glastonbury in particular. I'm genuinely cross about this. Not just my own selfish disappointment, but the whole tone of the thing. My festival time is not based on who can bid best for my patronage. It's about me having the nearest damn thing that I can to a spiritual experience, just for a few days in an otherwise stressful, challenging year.

Bollocks.

Christ, I bet there was a run of brisk, angry, uncalled for prostate examinations at Dr. Ben's surgery for a while there!

If only to dispel the mental image, I'm a frickin' children's emergency doc, Wofster, and whilst that particular examination is not unheard of in my department,  it is done...ahem...sparingly...

I was a bit cross though, wasn't I?

After last year and the Stanton Warriors playing three times over the weekend, what are the chance s of them playing again this year. or has anyone heard that they are playing.

their set in the Temple was very good,  it was the first time I had been in the Temple after all these years, it's a great venue I will be there more this year

Hehe. I know, Ben, I know!

My doctor suggested he check mine when I went in for another completely unrelated ailment.

Its - necessarily - not the most...gentle invasive procedure is it?

Anyhoo. Enough of my bot bot.

Do carry on. The Temple...

I'm yet to get into the Temple after two visits to the Farm - really only because I didn't want to queue as I was nicely spangled and having so much fun elsewhere that didn't require queuing. But, especially with the increased capacity/size, I am determined to get in there this year, assuming that there are sets to entice me. And there's a practically zero chance that there won't be.

That rather depends on whether or not they use the whole fist, Wofster.

Did you ask to see any formal certification of medical qualification...?

:D

we went last year as it opened, the fist people on were the Stanton warriors (same night and time as Adele) so that helped, there was small queue but it moves fast . well worth the wait

Yes, I'll be happy to queue a bit this year, but will just be even more military with my planning. I waited for about half an hour to get into Love Bullets last year and couldn't be happier that I did as the three and a half hours after that were magnificent. I've already decided to max out the night-times even more this year, at the expense of one or two 1130-1230h slot bands that I would always have in my schedule, so unless there's a bloody good reason, the Temple will not be left out in 2017.

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.
