Getting over a break up?

So says he. She may have been screaming "I f**cking hate you, stop watching me shit" for some time plus others yet he really hasn't taken these hints as something is wrong and in his head laughs "funny little thing". Then bam she's gone.

Not saying that couchy just a point of view. I still don't like her for kicking bunnies

That's a fair point.

I pity the poor girl who goes out with couchy next. She'll be in the bathroom cleaning her teeth only for him to burst in with a turtles head poking out, reversing towards the toilet like it's the most natural occurrence in the world.

I also don't think it's helpful to imply that there may have been little things Couchy was doing to upset/ignore her that he might focus on as a source of regret.

You're probably right. I moved to Leeds, no friends or job (won some money off Absolute Radio & get a second job doing evenings at a lovely pub) but struggled to get work up there. We went travelling for a month so funds have always were always a bit low. Used to love going out to restaurants & trying out cocktail bars, perhaps I just couldn't provide enough.

If you don't know what went wrong, please try not to beat yourself up about it. There's not really any point blaming her or yourself.

Don't worry I've re-read the first few pages now, my memory was correct and all my posts have been applicable.

Where was it then, I couldn't find it, another poster described their experience, I couldn't find anything about Couchy's experience other that that she might have met someone else, then another post whereby she hadn't, then another where he thought she might have.

My life is a mess!

Edit: I bumped into her with the same bloke twice, she denied anything going on, but he had been staying over on the sofa at hers on multiple occasions according to her. The first time I shouted hello & she kept walking with him & ignored me. She put him in her flat then came & spoke to me.

Second time she sent him walking on to work & turned round for a chat.

Can't help but get suspicious.

atomised is right, you'll cause yourself more pain wondering about it. you're better off getting yourself where you can't see it.

it is this then...

agree with this.. a huge amount of friends seemed to go through breakups in their late 20's to early 30's as their girlfriends switched from guys who were fun/interesting/exciting to provider types,

In my experience if she's now texting regularly 3 weeks later its possible the new guy was just playing along to get laid and now a long term relationship maybe doesn't look as attractive to him so she's looking for a plan B (you) to fall back on. Take the advice in this thread and stay strong and cut all ties.

If you think there's any chance money had anything to do with it you're better off out.

Y'know, unless it's because you were stealing all her money to spend on crack. Then it's probably your fault.

Jesus christ Couchy, of course "nothing was going on".

Without knowing either of you - that post said more about the situation than anything else in this thread. If she believes that conducting her life in that way should be acceptable to a loving partner, she is massively deluded.

Fucking move on son. When she dumped you, she did you the biggest favour anyone has ever done for you.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned (i dont think?) - how old are you both?

As others said, really best not to think about it to much. Will only eat away at you.

Just pretend she's joined decided to join a convent instead!

and its not a mess, its just not going exactly to plan for you right now, a minor bump in the road :)

PS. Pretty glad I wasn't work today reading this thread, don't think i could have held the laughter in!

    • First time for me, really enjoyed it. Nice venue, nice weather, good vibes, etc.   Notes on performances: CMAT's a great performer - seen her live twice now.  GANS are my favourite new act since Big Special, and live they're fantastic. Fellow Brummies too, so I'm all about that. The album's a bit disappointing though. Primal Scream were great, although I felt the crowd seemed a bit muted. The Libertines sounded knackered. Not sure they're suited to a festival. First time seeing The Royston Club, thought they were very good - the tent seemed to be full of kids on each others shoulders singing along. I'm all about that. First time seeing the K's, a bit disappointed. Didn't like his voice, and I felt like every song sounded the same as the last one. Sarajevo is a good tune, though. It still sounds like all the others, just a bit better.  The Maccabees and Two Door Cinema club were a but underwhelming, but Pelican by the Maccabees is a banger. It all sounded a bit Travis/Early Coldplay to me though. The Wombats took me by surprise - I expected 1 1/2 hours of 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' style indie-landfill, so I was surprised to hear that some of the rest of their stuff had dynamics and range. I still don't think they're any good, but I can't say they didn't surprise me either. Just not my thing.   Surprise of the weekend for me was Rizzle Kicks. Never listened to them before, but they got me out of my tent and into the arena as I was trying to nurse a hangover and I thought it was a blast.    Will probably go next year too.
    • Not really anything to say other than the fact I'm down at Opeth and this has been a cracking summer by and large here. Few duds, plenty of sellouts, strong weather, and the craft beer is cheaper than the regular bar. Winner winner, chicken dinner!
    • Pink Floyd night on sky arts time for me  to wallow in nostalgia and remember some incredible gigs
