Seen it mentioned a few times on this thread, but what is the real likelihood of The Strokes making an appearance? Tickets already bought but that would just be insane.

Also, missed Franz Ferdinand last year, would really like to see them - guessing they aren't going to be doing festivals this summer though.

So we've got Pharrell not headlining at IoW, and the Pinkpop organiser saying they're sealing him for a non-headlining spot. Sounds pretty certain to me now that he has a Stromae-like statute.

You're right. Still strange that there is such a silent since last Thursday and there are no one for the Saturday .

I really hope you're right Dietediet, but in the announcement it says: After the announcements earlier that Muse and Foo Fighters are playing Rock Werchter 2015, this brings the headliner count to three.

Faith no More and then Pharrell Williams, that would make me happy :)

I'd love to see them right before Pharrell. A pissed off Mike Patton vs an innocent young crowd, should be fun.

;)

No but, I'd prefer them in the Barn. They're an amazing live act (Pukkelpop '09 is one of the best performances I've ever seen) and I don't want it spoiled by 3/4 of the audience not being interested...

Not sure what to think of this Pharrell situation as he's not headlining other festivals yet i can't see many acts that will be on tour that can headline at the moment. Also with it being a 4 day festival makes it more difficult for rock werchter. We'll see but my guess at the minute is....

The Chemical Brothers/Foo Fighters/Florence & The Machine

Pharrell Williams/Coldplay/Bastille

Goose/Editors/Lenny Kravitz

Muse/The Strokes

He is headlining Roskilde but he has announced IOW which he isn't headlining which makes me feel differently whether he will or not. Depends on if they can get anyone else really! Like in 2013 they had 6 'headliners' Green Day/Blur/Kings of Leon/Rammstein/Depeche Mode/Editors' all of which I believe were announced as 'headliners'

Yes, but they coined the term 'headliner' last year for Major Lazer and Trentemoller as well. So that isn't saying much either, except that he's on main stage at night.

I see your point. But the reason to Trentemoller was a headliner is because it is more or less a tradition, that Roskilde got a Danish act as a headliner.

2010: Nephew, 2012: Mew, 2013: Volbeat, 2014: Trentemoller, 2015: Mew... The reason for Major Lazer.. only god knows ;)

Yeah just saw this, surely rules them out for next summer? 2016 looks nailed on if anything though!

Nah, even if it's not quite ready for this summer they could always do what they did for Mylo Xyloto and play festivals off the back of the lead single then release the album shortly afterwards.

I suppose so, I guess it's just the wording of the article I read where they said we're gonna put everything into the new album, then we will go on tour. Hmm... http://www.nme.com/news/coldplay/81546/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=coldplay Edited by KarmicChris

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
