I did see photos and footage of the dog. It looked to me like it had been well kept and was a happy dog. I couldn't condemn the person who last looked after the dog unless I knew the facts behind why they suddenly stopped doing so. I'm leaning more towards alien abduction by the hour.

The only dog I ever had as company also had bad ears and skin problems at times. It's just like we may get, for example, the flu at times. I took my dog to the vet any time there was a problem and followed the advice eg administering the appropriate drugs etc (to the dog that is!). Some of these things take time to cure. It doesn't mean the person was negligent in caring for the dog.

Have spoken to Michael about this today. Apparently the dog came onto the site with one of the litterpickers on the Monday after the festival which is allowed. He said there were loads of dogs on site the two weeks after the festival 'which were a nuisance'.

I've also heard from another source in the village that the owner was checking on his dog regularly and was distraught when he found it missing from his tent.

IIRC at least one of the authorities concerned has suggested that there are very much 2 sides to this story and it's not quite the story of animal neglect it's being made out to be. "Leaving your dog alone for the day is not a crime" I believe were the words.

I'm kinda happy standing by the idea that it's not the place for a dog - presumably why it was stuck a box - and it should have been in a kennels and probably should have been to a vets for treatment.

But at least it's better than first feared. Nothing criminal about caging an animal all day, but still...

It's only a dog. I'm sorry if that seems callous. Disabled people were killed by Israeli bombs yesterday. There are far more important things in this world than abandoned dogs. I'm sorry.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
