Remember that shangri-la countdown. absolute scenes then nothing and still nothing.

Oh yeah, what the devil was that about? did they say anything at all? pretty funny really.

Does anyone think it's possible fleetwood Mac were rejected by glasto for the Sunday night headliner? On the basis they had someone already that they preferred?

Just trying to read into something neil said a few weeks ago about a fleetwood Mac story he heard which he didn't intially think was true.

Also giddings comments, although this was probably general

This perfectly sums up how this thread has been this year.

I sometimes wonder if Vladimir Putin's PR people are running the show this year. A deliberate plan to confuse and destablise the audience, before all is revealed with massively changed borders and scenes of carnage.

It's nice outside and I have just spent the first half of my lunchtime in the office at my desk catching up with everything. This thread has now become all I care about (well that's not strictly true and looking forward to seeing Avvlways at The Joiners) but yeah, poop.

my mate who works in the biz is absolutely adamant that the chilli peppers are the third headliner. can't be right that can it? haven't seen them mentioned anywhere and I don't think they're particularly relevant these days are they?

Your mates pants are on fire

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your message.

No further announcements are currently scheduled, however we’d expect some more artists to be announced within the month.

Best wishes

Glastonbury Festival

Thought I'd throw this into the pot by way of a hi.

I will be made up if P***** does play but if Hilda Ogden and her Machines play then that's good too as it means I will get to see one of the other headliners. Which is nice.

Foo Fighters aren't exactly a 'strong' choice. They are always on the festival circuit, and fair enough they put on a good show, but they are kind of an obvious choice.

Always being on the circuit doesn't counter the fact they sell out Wembley Stadium. As Emily has said, all the festivals were keen to get the Foos this summer but it was Glasto who nabbed them. Edited by Zac Quinn

There should be a comma after 'Best wishes'. If you're going to put a fake email on here, at least work on your punctuation before hand. :)

Nah

it's a shame the Chilli Peppers have pissed on their own careers because I actually forget how good some of their stuff is. Also some of their stuff is terrible so... yeah whatever.

Just a running thought about the chilis.. carry on with your day.

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
