Could see a lot of those playing to be fair but just sort out of those positions, however I don't remember Refused getting back together for some more shows all of a sudden (anyway they'd headline a stage)

I presume it's after the Facebook post(s) about Jon leaving. So that must mean there is something for him to leave, i.e. Refused is still a going concern.

Which is clutching at straws a bit, but still. I'd freaking love it if they played again.

To be fair, I could see Royal Blood easily opening up the mainstage and I think they could be a really good band to do so.

Royal Blood are bigger than any of the bands 4th down on main on that poster or any of the suggested lineups, and arguably bigger than the 3rd down bands as well. No way in hell are they opening the main stage.

To be honest I can't see them playing Download at all. No need when they can get high slots at mainstream festivals.

Oh well in that case I totally agree, I thought everyone was of the impression they were too small to open it haha. Didn't they play DL last year though? Wouldn't be surprised to see them at Leeds again on the mainstage.

He was fired back in 2013 and know one really knows why he did put that post on Facebook now and not when he was fired, but I still hope they do some more shows

Hehe, yeah, definitely not too small! They did play it this year, along with basically every other festival going, cos nowhere's really that bothered about exclusivity for up-and-coming acts that don't even have an album out. After selling a crapload of copies of your debut, and a crapload of tickets for two UK tours, it becomes a different matter!

I think they consensus is they'll play 3rd down-ish at Reading and Leeds, yeah. Especially if they can get new material at least on the way by then. Would be a similar trajectory to the Vaccines between the 2011 and 2012 festivals.

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
