To be fair this happens with loads of major artists. I was easily able to get great Stevie Wonder seats long after they "sold out".

This isn't a Prince specific phenomenon - and if those tickets had been available in the 'general public' sale they probably would have sold to actual punters.

I counted up 180ish tickets going for below £70 on Seatwave for the first Manchester date.

Proportionally (of tickets on sale there) that's only 18% or so but still a lot.

Sorry to say this but a cursory glance at a typical secondary site seems to show a fair few: http://www.getmein.com/tickets/prince-tickets/birmingham-257361.html

555 tickets available. Wouldn't say there are hundreds under face value, but they have plenty of general admission at £49ish, which I think was less than face value?

Who actually cares if these gigs (or any gigs ) are sold out due to high demand or sold out because secondary sites have snapped up tickets in a mad rush? If you want a ticket, buy a ticket. If you don't, why do you care?

Secondary ticket sites have been operating in this way for years, there's nothing about the Prince situation that's new or particularly interesting.
