I think the BBC actively want it to rain so they can show more footage of the mud..

But then again the Daily Fail will want it to be sunny so they can post pictures of young ladies in bikini tops with flowers in their hair!!!

So much negativity here. Kind of ruining the build up for me!

I still maintain it is going to be like last year. We'll get in on Wednesday, it will be fine. Thursday or Friday will have rain and weekend will be fine.

Such a cliche thing to say but it's Glastonbury! I have the most fun here regardless of the weather. If you didn't want any rain, should have gone to a festival abroad.

Total rainfall between now and the end of the festival for the GFS 18z run yesterday was showing around 40-45mm, but the ensembles this morning are showing it to be an outlier. The 00z run is showing around 20-25mm.

Whats an outlier if you dont mind me asking?

Yes but the latest runs show constant rain from Friday, all day every day! Enjoying it yes but it's looking grim at the moment

Oh I can't wait for the festival as much as anyone - too excited to sleep!

However facts are facts and its looking almost certain to be a wet one. I also see you've done Glasto '10 & '11, as someone who survived 1997 let me tell you the thought of anything near that scale (which doesn't look likely but anything still possible) does put fear in me :-) But whatever happens this time tomorrow all worries of weather will have gone 'cus we'll all be back on the farm!!! I CAN'T WAIT.

It means none of the other runs were quite so extreme. So there's unlikely to be that much rain. The ensembles have come out for the 00z run now and it seems to be pretty much bang on average so 20-25mm from now until Monday morning is likely.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
