I threw out my umbrella, and bought a second bottle of sun cream, and in doing

Frostypaw- last years rain was caused by something like a band of it being in some sort of weather front or something- how does the rain differ when it's just the result of falling pressure? Is the rain worse or more persistant? Am I making any sense?

You are making sense, but asking me might not be particularly wise. My rational sciencey side is turning to witchdoctory by the hour

the high/low pressures push the fronts around - they're effectively pools and lumps of cold or hot air pushing around over each other, where they overlap is a front and the overlapping causes 'weather' as the air gets squished or cooled or heated. hotter air can hold more moisture but if it's lifted and cooled it can't hold as much and that falls as rain

last year's was one big low moving over so one simple front, but big and heavy for it. this is all messed up with various lows and highs none particularly tall/deep so a showery outlook with rain more broken up - more time to dry out/percolate down between rain hopefully.

the rainfall amounts on the ensembles have all reduced since yesterday, the fat lady ain't singing yet - but she has her little sou'wester wearing voodoo doll out

Thanks! It's time to pray:

The NFR NFC thing is embarrassing. There's people in that thread who have literally spent half their waking life writing that nonsense. Every year this is one of my favourite threads on efestivals. Some science, some humour, pessimism, optimise, realism, smiles, tears. its a very human thread

perfect!

what i'd like to see is the total joygasm in here if this turned around now after the monday system. fecking tiny chance but gives me a warm giggle to think about it

it's not gonna be that bad. i've worked through many weeks that have looked worse than that and not put a waterproof on at all - we'll get some, we'll survive, we'll laugh at someone falling over. Life's alright

I think time to pray! I follow the weather models all year regardless of Glastonbury. We will have an upper trough over us for Wednesday. The chance of it being completely fine are therefore small. However there is still a chance of fronts being deflected away and for us just to get the odd shower or a weakening front. I think there will be some uncertainty as to the weather until Tuesday morning. Let's see what happens. The weather is the one thing we can't change however much we discuss it.

Always been a firm believer in no point worrying about something that's out with your control but the panic merchants in this thread have got me twitching nervously :D

I don't really understand most of the technical terms used here though and I'm just going off the general vibe off people's posts, is it really going to bad as you's are making out?

Some of they websites with the forecasts have the temperature up at 20 degrees with a bit of rain, thats BBQ weather up here in Scotland :D

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
