me and Bigdog have tooled around the villagers / blue gate area and along the north side of the site and the boy is happy and hot. The last few days of hot and dry have started to work in our favour, hard and dry with very occasional moist patches (phnarr). There is a good drying breeze and the buzzards are up around the G car park buggering around on the thermals. He sampled the rabbit scut and attempted to roll in some fox shit but that pleasure was denied him. Tomorrow is promising to be hotter and it will continue to dry the area.

We tromped through the long grass and came out with a good covering of seed but completely dry feet, indication that there is no trapped moisture in the shaded root areas. Another good sign.

We can't get on site, security are newly positioned and still keen. There is also a prohibition on dogs that is apparently not negotiable. It is looking good as you drive down the hill into the village, starting to look full in some places. Wickedfairies webcam will give much better detail than I can.

We haven't had to resort to the rock real time forecast, one look at the panting and farting horse thing tells me all I need to know.

Looking good folks.

Excellent. Looking forward to the rock reports.

Hoping for 'dry'.

Not upset Rex. Was just a bit bored at work! Loving the Ainsley photo though. Always love a bit of Ainsley :)

Well the good news is - no-one is forecasting torrential rain, so I think we should be ok. Arrrghhhh, it's getting so close now the forecasts must be getting more reliable soon.

Still a while yet! Even a week before they tend to be dodgy- however these longer range things help to give us a very very basic idea of the kinds of possibilities- ie whether there will only be high or low pressure or whether there will be a mixture.

Latest charts showing high pressure over us tues, weds, thurs of festival then breaking down with rain setting in from Friday.

I'm sure that's the standard glastonbury weather- nice and sunny on Wednesday and Thursday, rain Thursday night/Friday morning, hot and sunny on the Sunday. That was roughly the template in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2013, I think!

From the Netweather blog with various red, yellow and green pictures which to be honest, I have no idea what they are / do.

"It seems clear that the High Pressure will end around the 21st, however some runs then go worse, and then recover in time for the festival, so while a completely dry festival is unlikely, not that many runs go for a washout, with more of a mix likely at the moment. Of course this can and will change over the next 13 days."

Big Dog is out doing his rounds of the site as we speak. No doubt he will return hot and panting in awhile. Then proceed to dribble over the floor as he is not that great at drinking politely. Thank the lord for stone floors!

It is absolutely boiling in Somerset at the moment.

If it carries in like this I can see this being this year's 'must have' fashion accessory.

Thanks- have just ordered one!

At this moment the forecasts look very similar to 2002/3 and they were fine.

Yep I never even took wellies with me in 2002 (newbie mistake!) but I was very fortunate!

Don't remember it raining until after Roger Waters.

Ha! I never took wellies to my first one in 2003 either- I got lucky! Also had sun cream that had past it's sell by date the previous summer- it just seemed to stay on your skin like a powder!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
