Food Stall Recommendation

Is it a southern thing? Can't say I've ever seen it up north, I'll give it a try if I come across it for sure as it sounds delicious.

From memory it's on the left hand side on the path from the Pyramid field in towards babylon at the cider bus side.

Never eaten there though. Will reconsider if there's good word on it, but Tibetan cuisine isn't really much to write home about usually. Love the place and the culture, but the scran is pretty basic.

Did anybody go the Indian food stall between Dance Village and John Peel? (Sure it was called Baba Ji's) Think it was selling Bhajis and Samosas. Always wanted to go, but was always a huge que , plus I heard you had to queue once for Bhaji's and again for Samosas !!

Edit: Although I was told it was worth it.

I never seem to find the same places year on year, probably just not trying hard enough, in 2009 I found this awesome North African souk food place that I've not found since. Last year I ate a lot of sharwama (which is basically chicken doner) with fried halloumi, it was great.

My main piece of advice would be that you're a lot better off paying £6/7 for something nice that fills you up than paying £4 for some shite and having to eat again in 2 hours.

Buddha Cafe just up from the croissant neuf serves lovely vegie food and good vibe.

Go there every year for the coconut curry.

Mezze platters in the Park - go for the 7+ items option. Stuffed vine leaves, baba ghanoush, hummus, feta and spinach filo parcels, spicy bean stews, flatbreads. Mmmm..

Thali Cafe - although, sadly they don't do actual thalis, as in their restaurants. The curry is still damn nice though, as are the Mumbai snack boxes.

Native American stall somewhere between West Holts and Circus Fields. Delicious.

No Bones Jones - one of the best veggie eateries on site, and every time I've been to see him, the guy has been happy to let me have a bit of everything on the menu for a very reasonable price.

Carribean stall between Other and Pyramid. Have a lovely veggie feast plate from them every year and the lovely woman who works there always cheerfully rememebers me. callaloo, plantain, herby dumplings, a bean stew, rice and pea. Awesome

Tagine from the Moroccan stall between Other Stage and West Holts, beautifully spiced with a big serving of cous cous. A good evening warmer.

Curry at William's Green - New entry this one, and I can't remember the name of the stall, but there was a new curry stall in the food market area at William's Green this year. They were giving out some free samples of their curries. I think it was a Daal that I had, and it was bloody delicious. Not too pricey either, as I remember it.

I'm sure there are lots of other favourites that I've left out here. I'm always partial to some fried halloumi, a thai curry, or a decent pie mash and peas, too. Have done Pie Minister to death, though, living in Bristol.

Really don't get the appeal of the Growler or the Welsh Oggie, other than for their sheer mass. The Oggie certainly does the job of cementing your stomach for a whole day, but it's a pretty dour joyless slab of grease.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Pilton Pasta yet. It's not exactly exotic, but they give you a good portion (I usually have it with chicken and mushrooms) for £5 that fills you up for most of the day. It used to be near the meeting point; panicked a couple of years ago when it moved, but found it on the road up to the Kidz field. I love it and when my kids were younger they were brilliant and gave them a bowl of plain pasta with just mayonnaise for £1. (£1.50 last year).

Sorry if already posted but the permaculture cafe at the back of greenfields is great. Tucked away but you get a big plate of food and a brew on real plates and cups for about £3

i always intend to go scope out some nice food stalls at Glastonbury but what with the states i get myself in to, i definitely fall in to the 'eat to survive' category. sometimes i literally have to just push food in to my face lest i die

Not the Growler.

It's just one of those myths.... it's not even that nice! Was very disappointed. To be honest, i was far too 'off it', to remember where i ate last year, but know i ate a cracking Mexican Venison Nachos, not far from Williams Green, which was just delectable.

I always love the 50p tea tent, for... yep, you guessed it, 50p Tea, i know where it is, but what part is that even called?

Holy fucking shitballs! Just read through this whole thread and it has put Glasto on a new level for me. Going to be in heaven trying out lots of new food as well as everything else!

Would give Homer Simpson a run for his money in the drooling department right now.

With the sit down fancy meal, will I need to take out a loan? Lots of people have mentioned its pricey, how pricey are we talking?
