Matt42
Could easily just be doing a big scottish gig since they'd wanna do more than just R&L with their new album.
kingcrawler
Hmm, I was thinking that the summer sessions wouldn't be counted as a festival but I'm sure Courteeners were announced as an English exclusive for R&L last year so maybe they are. tori1607
Would prefer if Mumford played Summer sessions as at least they haven't played that before and only headlined T 2 years ago. But we all know T loves booking headliners to play ever other year!

KeiranBanks
I can remember walking past Mumford 2 years ago and thinking the crowd was the smallest I have ever seen at a headliner before.
DiegosLeftHand
If Mumford headline I will never be back at T again. That is proper, proper stupidity.
FloorFiller
considering The Libs are TBC for Reading, would TITP really share two of it's headliners? seems unlikely
Mezhyp1
considering The Libs are TBC for Reading, would TITP really share two of it's headliners? seems unlikely I questioned this amongst my mates earlier, would make sense if Mumford played the summer sessions, but the two festivals don't directly effect each other's ticket sales much at all so it might not have a massive effect apart from Melvin Benn turning his nose up at the lack of exclusivity
harryomatic
Where do people think Bastille would play with a new album if they're at T? Headlining Tuts? 3rd down on main? Certainly that sort of size with a new album probably
Rose-Colored Boy
Probably the exact same slot they're taking at Reading, third on main.

SilverLining
Chem Bros looking incredibly unlikely now... playing croatia on the friday, France on the sunday. that would such a massive effort to move the full show from croatia to scotland to France overnight looking less and less strong closer we get to the announcement. Rose-Colored Boy
The Script subbed main stages last time they did the circuit, the album didn't do enough to push them into headliner terrirotry but I still don't know that they'd be relegated to the second stage
harryomatic
I don't see headlining 2nd stage as being pushed down. I'd argue that headlining second stage can sometimes be a bigger/better slot than subbing main. You get a longer slot, and the chance to bring along a bigger stage set up to do your own show. Chiefski
Ugh, Mumford and Bastille, No thanks. Hope they both play the Summer Sessions or Edinburgh fringe. Pretty rubbish R/L announcement really, what stage is Deadmau5 playing there?
harryomatic
Yeah exactly. I'd like to see Stereophonics do that at some point. Bit different from just a sub slot on main stage.
harryomatic
Presume he's an NME Tent headliner? Could go up against Libs, Mumford or Metallica really

I agree Id say it would be more of a promotion, Going from subbing to headlining regardless of the stage.

Is it on the strength of that you have them SR Neil? Or do you have more info than just reading between the lines so to speak

A summer sessions show would be about all else they could play, and I'm not even sure they would count that as a festival, I thought it weird just to say english/welsh exclusive, unless they are playing in Northern Ireland or Ireland, would be a quick return to T but that's no unheard of
