Guessing it's a happy yay go TITP video to win over the planning council. Interesting though. Liked the very deliberate WE ARE WORKING TO SORT THE OSPREYS AND ALSO WE LOVE OTTERS AND BATS bit.

Sure I recognise the song but don't know where from. Last view videos, TITP seem to have used Scottish acts that are breaking trough just now. So could be Prides/Vigo Thieves/Tijuana Bibles etc, though doesn't sound too much like those three in particular

"OSPREY UPDATE

You're probably aware that there has been a lot of media interest in T in the Park recently - aside from the line up - and we wanted to make sure that you know the facts. We do indeed have Osprey at Strathallan Castle. Osprey are a protected species and due to this, we had to apply for planning permission to hold the festival at Strathallan Castle on a permanent basis. This is not new for us - we had to apply for planning permission on an annual basis at our previous home in Balado. As always, we will work closely with the relevant organisations and authorities to ensure that we can, and will, meet any conditions that are placed on planning and licensing consents correctly.

Because we care about wildlife, and we know many of you do too, we are currently working with RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) and SNH (Scottish Natural Heritage) as well as our highly experienced and respected ornithologist and Osprey experts to make sure that the birds, and indeed any other species that may be onsite now or in the future, are suitably protected so that nature and the festival can co-exist - as they do successfully at many other rural outdoor events. The main thing to tell you however is that we cannot wait to welcome you all - the best audience in the world bar none - to T in the Park at our beautiful new site at Strathallan, for what will surely be the weekend of the year!

We'll continue to tell you the facts and keep you up to date with all the latest festival news right here and we look forward to creating lots of new memories with you at Strathallan Castle in July!

The fact that they have now gone public with this suggests that there is very very little chance of it getting called off.

It never was getting called off. There's too much money involved, regardless of the birds. Money always talks even if it means bending some laws and pissing of the tree hungers.

"If the council find that DF Concerts don't have the ability to work with the appropriate government bodies, I would find that unbelievable - their track record and environmental awards demonstrate they're a company that has the environment as its top priority."

Fairplay Geof, argument well made :P

Lady Starlight? She'll empty the Slam Tent pretty quickly. She's Lady Gaga's best pal and seen her support her a few times over the years. One time she did some performance art where she put masks on non stop for 45mins and another time she played the one EDM beat on a loop for 30mins and claimed it was "live dance music".

More problems at Strathallan. Second osprey nest has been found so another buffer zone required. Posted on the TITP FB page asking what this meant for the festival, was it cancelled and when will we get our refund??. The as$$holes just deleted my post.

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
