thing is if plant and page were that much up for reuniting, metallica or not then wed have led zepp at the festival and not a plant solo show. is it not friction between those pair that is the main hurdle towards a full led zepp reunion happening? from what I understood anyway? I think maybe we`ll see metallica with one of them but not both, either would be awesome though

There's a big difference in singing one song with another band on the same bill & getting an entire band back together, through rehearsals etc to play your own headline show. Singing one Zeppelin song with Metallica (with or without Page) would be minimal effort considering Plant already performs several in his own set anyway.

As strange as it sounds though, I'd still say Page is more likely to play with them than Plant, even though Plant is the one already performing on the day.

Brain May performing Stone Cold Crazy could be another way to go, either way I do think they'll try to pull out something special. (Not that May is that special, he'll perform with anybody)

From their point of view they're going to try & pull out all the stops to make it memorable. They're not stupid, they know that for the first time in a long time they won't be playing to the converted. Nobody here has suggested that Metallica were not "enough".

I hope there are no guests. I want a Metallica show.

So you don't consider the 30th Anniversary celebration shows, the Big 4 shows or the S&M gig to be "a Metallica show" then I presume...

yeah all of the 'options' for an opening song are fantastic. and i'd be very surprised if they didn't play Fade To Black. pretty much a setlist staple these days
