The info I heard is of another UK date for Metallica, being announced later this week (I don't know what).

While I can't guarantee that's accurate, it's pretty unusual for something like this tit-bit to be wrong.

We'll get to find out later this week, by whether or not there is another UK date announced

(I'd never place 100% faith in what any press release says, because there's a history of them sometimes telling porkies).

True, though they normally lie about exclusive dates and then confrim the other one after ticketsales for the first one have gone on sale!

You forgot a capital letter at the start of your sentence, and a full stop at the end of it. Also there could possibly be a comma after "forums", or even a full stop.

And as for this announcement, I doubt there will be any surprises, but let us hope there is, for then we may not have to put up with Metallica at another festival (probability of 0.00000000001%).

Not smaller, but Metallica play every year (more or less), Maiden played Download last year.

Um, no. In metal, those are the biggest you'll get. Third headliner ( For the Fri?) will be much smaller.

I'm going by what luckysalt said sometime ago before Soni was going ahead - they have 2 certain ones who are not as good/big/whatever, as the 3rd one with whom they were having talks. This third one decided whether or not Soni was going ahead. That's what I meant by the first post.

Don't get me wrong, they are massive in metal and I would love to see them but are we expecting another huge draw or is that it ?

I wouldn't expect anyone bigger than Maiden or Metallica to be honest. They'd cost the most/draw the most in that sort of genre, and i doubt they'd have the budget for anyone else on that level.
