Not liking a band and not getting them are two different things though are they not?

I don't like Depeche Mode but I get why people do.I don't like almost all dance music I've heard but I get why people enjoy it.

On the other hand, I don't get why any one would want to listen to UB40. They're just shite.

Yeah this is true. They are different things.

I don't get why people like Stone Roses - they genuinely bore the pants off me. The thing I most don't get about them is that people whose opinion I otherwise respect with regards to music seem to go nuts over them.

I do however get why people don't like The National, even though they're one of my favourite bands.

On the subject of Depeche Mode, I'm a casual fan at most but I saw them on Tuesday and they were bloody brilliant. I now totally get why people love them so much. Atmosphere was insane - but it was full of fans so still not sure it would translate to the Pyramid. Not that that's relevant any more by the sounds of it.

to be fair, there isn't much i don't 'get'. even the bands i dislike, i understand why people do like them. any band i don't particularly 'get' is just an act i haven't given the time to

or instance, Grizzly Bear have been a band i've tried to get into numerous times, and despite a few songs jumping out at me, their albums, as a whole, puzzle me. but i totally get why others would enjoy them, and i'm still holding out hope that they'll click with me one day because the songs i do like are fantastic

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
