maybe 'equalling' was the wrong word (as the Stones are the top of the top) but in terms of acts that could follow the Stones, Prince, Bowie, Zeppelin, arguably at this time Daft Punk, are all your safe bets

Though I'm not ure the love flows both ways. I'm pretty sure Keith dissed Led Zep in an interview a while back.

Loads of people hated them. For being way to derivative. Kind of a cartoon blues band. I think Jim Morrison said something about them being the death of rock and roll after he saw them in the early days.

The mere (moderately realistic) suggestion of LZ-1 playing at Glastonbury has made my heart die a little. Firstly, because it'll make the resale laughably difficult and, secondly, because there's a very real chance I won't be there to experience it. Not sure watching the limited bits they allow to be shown, through floods of tears, on the beeb will be quite the same.
