They should be a place you can physically queue to get tickets. Something like 100 tickets per a select number of HMV stores.

That would guarantee if you got there early enough and put the effort in you'd get a ticket and not have to rely on luck alone.

I am not half as computer literate as some of the people on this thread

I usually have multiple tabs up, worked last time on resale day.

Will probably have 3 laptops this time and could try just refreshing one tab on one of them

Also people mentioned Firefox, should i download firefox for ticket day??

May be an irrelevant question and sorry if it is but Neil, would it affect this years sale if my web preferences are the same as the way you suggested altering it last year (a la the balls up with the DNS where we all connected to the other server)? I can't remember if I changed it back after the sale!

You can download add-ons for most browsers which will automatically refresh the page after a set time. While I suppose thay save you having to keep pressing the F5 key, the danger is that they will refresh even if you reach a booking page if you're not careful.

That would be distressing!!

I don't understand it all... Does anyone have a copy of 'dummies guide to seetickets' I could borrow? I usually start obsessively planning for weeks in advance but last year my friend (who isn't buying this year) managed to get on and buy straight away. I still don't understand what happened, and I doubt I could follow the tips on this forum even if I had to do it now, minus the sweat and shaking hands that are synonymous with t-day.

I think the best thing is to have as many friends in different locations logged on and trying as it seems that some areas seem to be lucky in getting in for instance i have friends with fibre optic and friends with latest pc's but have no luck and then a friend in another area on dial up gets in no trouble! Networking thats the thing to do i reckon.

That's where I have a big problem - apparently, all my so called 'friends' are much too grown up for Glastonbury these days so I'm on my own... Well, me and the hubby - best I can do is turn up on my friends doorstep at sunrise on t-day with a nice present and my laptop while hubby tries from home...

Actually, just thought, if I got access to my office (Uni) instead of my friends house, would that put me in a better position? Aarrgghhh!!!

Any techy types able to tell me if going through the TOR network on T-day would give me any advantage? I was thinking of using a browser setup on TOR and another on the regular network. My thinking was that I'd be coming in from 2 different locations this way, or I may be wrong!

This will be my 1st time trying to get tickets since 2005 so getting wee bit nervous. I have personal laptop, work laptop and an ipad- I wondered if any particular method had a better success rate- am I best to have all 3 on the go? Any particular browser?

Sorry to be a pain, but I can't remember how it was done.... Would someone be able to give me the method Neil used last year and I can reverse it?

Thanks in advance! Sorry!

you need to edit your 'hosts' file, and remove the whole line if there's any line that references seetickets.com

Because how it's done varies across different operating systems (windows, linux, etc), the best bet is for you to google for the best way to do it for your PC.
