Sadly no. I randomly looked up Matthew Healy's Wikipedia to see how old he was and it was in the text on there. Also shoegaze is interestingly listed as one of his genres.

I don't really understand what shoegaze is, I just know that bands like Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine are described as such. They're definitely heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine though, and there's a lot of more ambient tracks on their EPs so I'd say that's probably where that's come from.

It's using lots of effect pedals to create a dreamy sound (well that is the way I think about it) and because of the pedals it is where Shoegaze gets its name as your always looking down at your shoes when playing it. The more you know!

The 1975 will 1 million percent not be there, don't see why people would think they would be. R&L twitter page favourited a girls tweet which was along the lines of 'please can you get Alt-J for this year, i would love to see them again'

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
