Download isn't really for me I don't think, I've liked a lot of the headliners / subs over recent years but I feel the lineups generally don't have enough for me to fork out money for a weekend ticket, if the Muse day has a couple more bands I'd like to see then I'll consider a day ticket.

Fair enough. It's often the same for me really. I've considered a day ticket a few times but can never be bothered in the end for the price.

They likely won't be at R+L though if Download has booked them. Looks like they've snapped up Shikari too.

Just go. I thought the same the first time I went. I ended up loving a load of the bands I heard for the first time there. Plenty time to save back up for Leeds too :)

Frank Turner is going into the studio and is hoping to release another album in 2015 so I fully expect him there

He always "leaks" festivals on XFM (when Danny Wallace was on- John Holmes now) & Absolute (OC) so keep an eye or ear out on there

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
