Regarding Roskilde, its probably the case they are in demand for there but another fest, Northside (who is building a cracking lineup)... pipped them to booking them. The most revealing of how close they are to being available will be if say Rock Werchter and Optimus announce them, even if they play T, it would be two weeks before the US tour starts

Everyone seems very against this, I know unlikely but not too unrealistic really...

People just seem to be going on what the organiser said about Arcade Fire, has anyone got a link for this, hear lots of talk but never seen this and besides do you really going to believe a festival organiser on what they say. And I doubt a festival organiser would come out and say 'this band aren't playing because another festival got them over ours', it's much easier to be like 'they're not going to be around when it's our festival'. This way by the time AF announce festivals in july, IF they do then most normal people unlike us forum dewellers would have forgotten this small nothing statement.

Just a thought...

Some people are believing what they're seeing and hearing, some people aren't. There's no proof either way and there won't be until that are or aren't announced, and when that happens it will be shown whether the information at the moment which suggests that they won't be around in July was correct or not.

I know you're looking for a reason to believe it's going to happen, but this has been played out for long enough that nobody's opinion is going to change without some real information/announcements.

The only thing thats still making me cling onto hope is that article where they were talking about doing a big Scottish show and mentioned TITP or doing something along those lines, but it is definitely not enough for any more than hope

Pretty happy if Franz, Pixies, and Skrillex were there. Franz I guess would be high or mid on the main stage, or Tut's headliner. Pixies same, though probably better suited to Tut's headliner. Skrillex Tut's or NMe headliner possibly.

Also just seen KoL playing Milton Keynes bowl next summer. Reminds me of 2011 when Foo Fighters did MK Bowl and TITP... Please Geoff no...

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
