Favourite day

I tend to end up leaving my tent about 11am Thursday and crawling back to it about 6 or 7am Friday. I love every day, but I adore Thursday. Big session, no plans, no where to be. Just whatever happens happens.

Thursday, usually bimble through the green fields, go to the twitter meet up, drink some brothers, bimble some more and then see some music in the evening. Perfect. Love Friday morning too.

Sunday,everyone has that lived in look,we came, we conquered, we survived.Nice hair has gone out the window as no ones looked in a mirror since leaving home(well most of us) and everyone smells of bonfires etc and just the feeling I've had a great time and that I'm gonna party like its my last night on earth.

Thursday 2011 was dry and warm, wasn't it? I remember sitting on the ground outside the beer tent in the acousitic field all afternoon.

Only been once and arrived mid-afternoon on the Thursday. Going on the Wednesday this time around, can't wait to wake up there on the Thurs and have a whole day to explore/sit about/get drunk with no structure.

It pissed down in the morning, woke me up about 7 with the sound of it rattling against the tent, stopped about 11:00 - 11:30 and then stayed a bit overcast all day. Think it was pretty warm/humid from memory but very wet/muddy.

A difficult question to answer, but I think I'll opt for Friday. I think the Friday night is the point where I hit terminal velocity.

We are lucky this year being in the campervan so getting in early and will be all set up for Wednesday.

I thought Thursday was mostly sunny in 2011 as well tbh. Definitely my favourite day though the last 2 years. Wandering round as thinks start to come alive.

Friday - I quite like it when the bands and that are on - and I haven't started to feel jaded by it at ths point. On Thursday, I kind of feel like I'm waiting for it to begin.

Also Saturday. As Sunday tends to be reasonably restrained due to the trip back the next day, Saturday tends to go for it big style!

Definitely Thursday. Have a lie in, get up and go for a wander around The Green Fields and go send some postcards then back to the tents to get ready for the night which normally consists of a wander round Shangri La and then down to Baggy Monday's to finish off the night.

Wednesday is actually my favourite day bizarrely. I think it's the contrast between the stress and pain of getting in with the joy that follows. That first pint of Brothers with the anticipation of all that's to come. Plus being fresh enough to party hard! Love it.

Every day is better than an ordinary day outside the festival though, except the Monday.

This is for me a more difficult question to answer than I thought I would normally say without hesitation that Wednesday was the best, however Friday and Sunday have their respective merits:

Wednesday

Excitement of being back on-site, the first cold cider outside your tent, cider bus.

Friday

First big night powder is dry and from 2pm until 6am I am literally away with the fairies.

Sunday

Nothing left to save yourself for now, kept the "big guns" in reserve for this night light blue touch paper and stand well back.

On balance Wednesday wins a close second is Thursday which made a late dash on the inside.

Definitely Wednesday for me but then we're in a camper so we're all set up and ready to go by Tuesday afternoon.

I love that feeling on the Weds when you get through the gates and feel home again but with all the excitement of seeing what's changed and all the mayhem that's to come over the next few days.

Saying that though as we drive down from Leeds in an old VW finally getting the van parked and knowing that we've made it with no breakdowns is a massive relief!!

That first walk around on the Wednesday I always like how clean and fresh the site looks.

By Sunday afternoon, dependent on the weather conditions it either looks like the Somme or a landfil tip.
