Thanks for the updates. I am 30 miles west of you and can see blue sky here so am sure that is heading your way. The rain is done and we are set for a lovely weekend, i can feel it in my water. Breakfast cider anyone?! I will be on site in 3 hours. Despite the fact my 8 month old woke me up (for the day) at 4am, I think that is still deserving of a big hurrah!

Rain? You call that rain?? That wasn't rain! Just a bit wet!

I heard someone say it was a mud bath. Noob.

Seriously guys, that 'rain' didn't even manage to clean the 2011 mud of my boots. Half arsed drizzle has not created mud, the ground is solid with a bit of dirty water on top. Mud? Pah!

Never mind the weather per se ... what about the more important things like whether the flags are fluttering nicely, is there an appropriate number of sunny bits *and* shady bits to choose to sit in and, perhaps most importantly of all, is the Pear Cider cold enough and just how firm is the ground on the required trek to pieminister ! It's all about getting the priorities right in Jazzworld West Holts you know, the weather is very much a bit part :P

Just wish we'd stayed in the Inn on Williams Green where we we're when it first started. Foolishly thought it was easing and wandered off, by the time we got to The Park where we planned to spend the evening it was hammering down and everywhere undercover was rammed. So we called it a night at about 8.30pm.

Not necessarily a bad thing, meant we conserved a lot of energy and I'm glad it fell Thursday and not Friday. Just a bit of a shame. Rest of the fest was a bit chilly at times but not bad. 7/10 I'd say.

Thought it was much better weatherwise than 2008 and 2009 personally.

The site was so dry the rain didn't make it that muddy......in fact I was out and about in my trainers again by the time Dizzee Rascal came on on Friday night. :)

Thought that was the best weather I've had at glasto in the all the years since the fence. A few hours of wellies on the thursday night/friday morning is bearable for an otherwise dry, fine, not too hot festival with cloud cover for the morning lie ins. Was close to perfect.

I was very happy with the weather this year. Had a real feeling of dread on Thursday late afternoon when the rain just seemed to get heavier and heavier, and again when it started briefly again on Friday morning, but there was never any proper mud and dried up quickly. Temps were just right for me, a bit chilly at times but would much rather add another layer than be too hot!

It was genuinely pretty damn muddy in The Park on Thursday night. Really hard to walk around without slipping over, probably a couple of inches deep wet slippery stuff. Slipped over once and got caked in it. It dried out very quickly on Friday though.

Overall less muddy than some previous years but obviously not as good as 2010 or 2003.

JACKONE did well on the forecast. His upper estimate of rainfall total was about 10mm and that's about what we got. Just unfortunate that it was the upper estimate that was hit rather than the lower one!

Thursday was a bit of a bugger but we managed to end up in The Last Picture Show (a cinema tent), which for those that didn't see it was a large space with mattresses and cushions and more than enough room for everyone. Watched a film and a half across four hours waiting for the rain to stop. So that worked pretty well!

    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
    • Chaka and Robbie got to have decent chances due to previous reports
    • Chaka is a west holts act all day long and yes please (as part of my vaguely purple day that I am still trying to make happen).   Teatime? Bryan Adams.
